Does anyone still send out Christmas cards?

We send out about 50 a year. It's the only time I take the kids to a professional photographer and we send out the best picture. I wish I would do more of a Christmas letter, but I am not much of a writer. I should try to do that more.

I love to receive the pictures of friends and family. I make a collage scrapbook page with all the cards. I love to look from year to year to see the kids grow!

What a great idea to scrap the cards...I LOVE those photo cards!

I ordered 60 cards this year....photo ones....40 is not enough and 60 is too much!
We have some business associates that we don't send the kids (okay, they are 20 & 22!) picture cards to.....
so I guess we send between 50 and 60.......
Writing them today as I am leaving on the Magic :boat: next Saturday!!!

WOW! I'm so glad to get such postitve response to my post!

I too send cards, pictures of the kids, and a letter printed for far away relatives that I try to get mailed by the 15th; especially to relatives in IN, IL and OH. For local folks I try to mail no later than the 20th. Our church has a "post office" for each member of our church. For .25 per letter/card, the RAs and GAs will deliver your cards to a church member. The money they make goes to our mission trip this summer to Ecuador and it also saves money for those wanting to send cards to church members.

I send a "formal Holiday Greetings" card to my clients and then send religious or funny cards to friends and family members. I don't have the time, money or patience to make my own cards so I send out as many store bought cards as I can; I'd guess between 50 and 75. Several years ago I had a Christmas card address book and would mark what card I sent to what family member. Because I have several different styles I send out, I wantd to make sure each family got a different card each year. I keep mine from year to year too and have had several years in a row w/the same card from the same family!! Since my girls have become involved in so many different things and my business is FINALLY picking up some, I don't keep up w/it like that anymore.

Have a super day!

We love cards too! Since the first kiddo was born we've sent a photo card and a letter written from the kid's perspective. The dog even authored a few. Last year we moved at Christmas and didn't get one sent out...it disappointed many people. This year we have so many photos we want to share, so we are doing a "newspaper" type letter thing. We send between 75-100. I LOVE getting cards and hearing what people have been up to for the year.

I've not been successful in getting a photo posted, but here is what it says (it's 3 sheets inside an embellished library pocket):

My Christmas Wish List:

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience. Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Self-Control

I hope all your Wishes come True!

The lamb lay across the shepherd’s shoulders
Gently, he carried him
through the star-filled night
To the place where the baby lay
nestled in the straw
Soft and wooly and warm,
His master laid him at the manger-feet.
Silence and peace settled around him
As the song of the angels was revealed.

May we rest at the Lamb’s feet
this Christmas and find
His peace settled on our hearts

“Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart” unknown

yes!!! and my list grows bigger every year... i don't make the cards i buy mass produced ones, you know store bought... :rotfl: I'd never have time to make them all... i do make about 12 to close relatives every year though..

Every year I buy enough "stuff" to make my own, but always end up sending store bought cards. I never quite start early enough to make them all and since I don't want family members comparing cards, I just get the old back ups out. But I do enjoy writing them and receiving them too!!!

I send out quite a few - may be 80 or 90. I address my christmas cards over the thanksgiving weekend. It is kind of a tridition with me. That way I can think of each person/family I am thankful for as I am writing out the cards.
