Does anyone stay in the bungalows?

When stayed at poly in oct I loved walking around the resort but I couldn't help but notice that there was no one staying in the bungalows the whole time we were there. I've noticed it is a LOT of points so I can see why.

Has anyone ever stayed in the bungalows before? Or know someone who has just out of curiosity

There are people who do and I'm glad for them. While I spend a lot of $$$ at WDW, this is one I'm not going to pay. My wife and I make a very comfortable living, but with a mortgage, car payment, a child in college, and our 401K, I'll pass on how much they cost.

I highly doubt they sit empty even for one night. I've seen people mention staying in them on here and if there is a night empty I bet they pixie dust someone into the room.

They are available every single night for our upcoming DVC stay in 18 days when even Saratoga Springs and OKW are sold out.

The Bungalow's sleep up to 8 so it it a valid option for larger groups of guests. My personal pet peeve is that they block some of be best beach areas of the Polynesian beaches for the rest of the resort guests.

I have always wondered what do folks do on the beach at Disney? Other than watching a movie I've never seen more than a handful of folks on the beaches and then it's just a few minutes while walking by on the way to somewhere else, which I figure is why they didn't think twice about using some up

Yes, I have a friend who purchased DVC at Poly specifically for the bungalows. She does shorter stays there and typically brings extended family or hosts gatherings during the fireworks as she knows many people in the Orlando area. My family spent an evening there with her, her family and some other friends to enjoy the Twilight Feast and fireworks.

Is anyone else freaked out about the thought of alligators and those bungalows? We know there are alligators living in that water. . .and then you have a house right on top of the water with a small pool next to it? The railing probably blocks them, but still makes me a little nervous!! I also found the beach at the Polynesian to be very buggy at night - little gnats flying everywhere - so wonder if you get that on the decks of the Bungalows

Yes. They are nice and the location and view is superb, but you don't get that much space given the amount of points they cost. I noticed that last time the cost for our trip was exactly the same as a VGF 3 bedroom Grand Villa, which has an absolutely huge amount of space and comfortably sleeps many more people than the bungalow, which only has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Not in the slightest. They've been there how long now? And how many instances of one getting up on them?

Even if I had the money I would not stay there. 1. lack of privacy from boats 2. if I stay in an over the water bungalo then I want to swim, snorkel whatever in that water. If you ask me It‘s a waste. Unless you are a large group.

Btw i have seen people in them.

The Poly beach was one of the highlights of the trip for our 3 year old son. He loved just running around, feeling the sand, digging his hands in, etc. It can totally be a fun place for kids.
