Does anyone stay at the same DVC resort over and over...

Just wondering....

We own at VWL and have stayed there twice. We have loved both visits. We would like to try the Boardwalk, OKW is appealing with the lower points, would like the Beach Club to use the pool, etc. But we can't imagine staying anywhere but VWL because we enjoy it so much!

Anyone else feel torn about where to stay next? (I guess the answer is just more trips, which means more points, which means add-on.... )

We own at BWV and have stayed there on each of our trips - 6 so far. On 3 of those trips, we also stayed a few days at VB, but only 1 of them was for points. I would like to try the other DVC resorts, but somehow, when it comes time to make the reservation, I just can't see giving up the great location of BWV!

Maybe next time I'll be able to do it! Yeah, right!

We own at HH and have stayed there every year, BUT . . .

In the three years we've owned, we've also stayed at Vero each year, as well as OKW, BWV, and BCV. One of these days we'll try some of the others. too, I imagine). A few times we've shared points with family who also are DVC members, and I also travel with a friend who owns DVC. This way, our points go a long way.

Plus, I've added on twice, small contracts, for a total of 225. It's fun to stay someplace new.

Although we've only owned for 2 years, and there haven't been too many "over and over"s, I can already tell that DH will stay at HH and OKW over and over again. As I've said before, I can tell he doesn't want to stay anywhere else. He SAYS he'll try BCV sometime because he knows I love it there, but I can tell his heart wasn't in the offer. At least my DH is dependable! I can always depend on him to choose OKW!

Like CarolMN, we, too, own at BWV and stay there 99% of the time. Sure can't beat that location! The only other DVC we have stayed at is OKW when we didn't have enough points to stay at BWV for the timeframe we had in mind.

What we generally do, however, for longer trips, is stay one or two nights for cash at one of the other non-DVC WDW resorts, then move over to BWV. Yes, it involves moving mid-trip, but we really want to try all the resorts to see what they are like. Poly is our favorite, so if they ever decide to do DVC there, we'll be first in line to sign up!

We like variety. I doubt we'll ever stay at the same resort twice in a row unless it is our only option.

We love it at BWV. Great location. We have stayed at OKW when there was not availability at BWV.

We are going to WDW at the end of this month for our first extended stay (vs a long weekend) at VWL. I hope we are not disappointed.

17 trips to DVC all of them to OKW. I did not learn about switching your reservations to another resort until a couple of years ago on these boards. I may do it some time in the future, but for now OKW with its large rooms are for me.

We've stayed at every DVC resort except BCV (and of course SSR). We're due for our first visit to HH next month. We like variety as Shan pointed out. The majority of our stays have been OKW and we'd be perfectly happy to have our stays here every year if we had to. But unless resort hopping becomes too difficult or not allowed, we'll probably switch around from time to time.

We own at BCV, and will probably stay there most of the time. We were able to stay at VWL in Sept 01, we were at WL and since we were looking to buy we were upgraded -the resort was empty.

We really liked both resorts, but love the BCV location.

We will also probably try HHI, Vero and maybe BW..

For our DVC stays we've stayed the most as our Boardwalk home, but we love variety and always like to try something new. Next up is Old Key West - never done it before.

If the time came where we could only stay at one place I'd be thrilled with Boardwalk, but for now variety is the spice of life!

I was at VWL in Sept 01....Labor Day weekend. It was great!

I'm working my way through the DVC system but I think when I'm done I'll mostly stay at VWL when things are busier, SSR in months like September (because most of the parks close early) and BCV for the food & wine festival.

A couple of years ago we were in exactly the same position as you. Only had made trips to VWL/WL and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. But we had some extra points due to banking and made a second trip in 2002...and decided to try the BWV.

Two months later we bought a BWV resale contract.

We've only had one trip home to BCV so far, but plan on making our yearly trips there. We bought it because we love the location and the decor - so don't really want to stay anywhere else! (Though we might check out HH in a few years!)

OKW 30 plus vacations for a total of 159 days.
BCV 1 vacation for 5 days.
VWL 1 vacation for 4 days (2 days before and 2 days after a cruise).
VB 1 vacation for 3 days.
BWV 1 vacation for 2 days.
SSR soon I hope.
HH someday.

We like to try the new resorts as they open but none of the resorts meet our needs or expectations as much as OKW does. We are grateful that other resorts are available and someday may take advantage of their availability. Until then OKW for us.

We didn't have a choice of resort back in early 1995 when we purchased. We're very grateful that it worked out like it did.

We have stayed at OKW,VB, and HH in the last 5 years. This Feb we will try SSR for 2 days before our cruise. But we always make time to walk around the Boardwalk on each trip to WDW.

OKW will always be our favorite though.

So far we have only stayed at VB and VWL. When we do peel ourselves from VWL, we enjoy the Poly or AKL.

There just ain't enough vacations for all of them!
