Back in the 70's my friend had this toy. It was like a circle that you sat in, low to the ground. It had two big wheels on either side of you with handles on the insides. You rotated the handles to make yourself go. If you did them together you would go straight, if you just rotated one you would go in circles, get it? I think the toy was red and yellow.

Does anyone remember this? I was trying to explain it to my kids and they just didn't get it. I remember it was a blast and I used to beg my friend to let me ride it!!

The Crazy Wheel or Crazy car! I had one of those. The wheels had swirly patterns on them. I loved that car.

Yes! It was called the "Krazy Kar". I think I got it for Christmas when I was five. I might even be able to find a picture of me in it...but for now I found this picture ;) I loved mine too :lovestruc
One of the best Christmas gifts I ever got!

My husband has been talking about how mush he loved his krazy kar as a kid and how he want's to get our kids one. Anyone know if you van buy them anywhere?

Krazy Kar by Marx

You can still buy them. I saw it on Sears.com - $49!

that evil place....Toysrus has them.

Yes, that's it!!! I can't believe you came up with a picture of it that fast!!

I wish they still made them, they were fun! :thumbsup2--duh, just read the above post that they're at toysrus. I just may have to check that out tomorrow...

Oh my gosh, my DH and I were talking about this right before Christmas. He had no idea what I was talking about, and I was trying to explain it to my DH and DS. That was one of my favorite childhood toys. You could really make yourself spin in those things.

Gotta love google!

They don't make them where they look like they used to, but they do sell a toy that's the same concept. But it's just not the same to me...oh, well.

My brother & I both had one - they were so much fun! We would spin ourselves until we were completely dizzy. My parents had all of their old home movies put on DVD for Christmas & we had shots of us riding our Crazy Cars. My kids got a big laugh out of them!

I remembered immediately!!! Can you believe that I knew what the OP was looking for immediately??? The Crazy Car was a peer of the original Big Wheel. Personally I liked the Crazy Car (my younger sibling's) so much more!!

I had not thought ab out that in years . My sister had one and so did I but I took the time to custom mine so we could tell them apart LOL Mine had stickers from A&W Rootbeer ( the old drive in) all over it .

We loved them growing up they were the first Bumper Cars for the general public .We killed each other with them you could really get up some speed then powerslide a flatspot right in the wheels.

OMG! That was one of my families favorite toys! We had 5 kids in our family and one year we all got "shoe skates" and 2 crazy cars for christmas. We had a big empty room in the basement with a linoleum floor. We had this fabulous game where 2 kids in crazy cars chased the kids on skates around the room until you could corner them against the wall! It was wonderful fun! (today it would probably be considered child endangerment and my parents would be locked up for letting us do it) What an awesome memory! :teeth:

Anyone know if an 8 1/2 year old would be too big for one? The age says up to 6 but the pounds are up to 70 (DS8 is under 70). What do you think?

These would be great to suprise the kids with on Valentine's day. I would not tell my husband either (he had one growing up as I said earlier) and him seeing the kids on the Krazy Kars would be my valentine to him!

Thanks OP. I've been racking my brains for a unique gift for this Valentine's day. Thanks to you I've found it.

Those were :thumbsup2 I loved that car! I remember it well! I think I would get to dizzy now tho... how did we do that :lmao:
