Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is??

Our last, (and first) trip to WDW, was great except for one thing--I couldn't find out the opening and closing times for the various parks. This is such simple, basic information that you would think would be readily available, but no one seemed to be able to give me that information. We stayed at the Polynesian. I called the front desk several times but was told they didn't have that information and didn't know who did. You would think a resort in WDW, expecially the 2nd most expensive resort in WDW, would have this information, but no! I expected some sort of information channel on the TV but they didn't have that. We asked a CM at Epcot for times and were given incorrect information, leading to poor planning and use of our time. I've since found park hours on Disney's website which I plan to take a copy of with me this time. Actually this time I'm taking my laptop. I've planned my whole trip online, and some things that have been reserved online can't be changed with a phone call. The changes must be made online as well. You would think Disney could tell you when they're open without having to go to their website!!!

My advice, print out a copy of park hours from Disney's website and take it with you so you can plan your time most efficiently. And consider taking your laptop if you've made reservations, etc. online.

Every time we have checked in to a WDW resort we have been given the current park hours brochure. Then, when it changes, we just go to the front desk and get the new one. We also found the daily park hours on the info channel at the resort. I guess I'm sort of confused that you couldn't find the hrs. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding your question. Now, that wouldn't be a first for me. But, I'm sorry you had such a hard time getting the hours.

What info channel on the TV? We couldn't find any. The front desk at the Polynesian was less than helpful. Just a tip to pass on to others. Get a copy of the park hours from Disney's website and take it with you. It can save a lot of time and frustration.

What I've done for our last two trips and our upcoming trip is make an itinerary that has our daily schedule (including PS ressie numbers) and then at the bottom of the page or on the back I put each's parks' operating hours/schedule.

I cut and paste the park operating hours from Disney's website and only include our vacation days.

I make several copies of the intinerary ... carry one around and leave one in the room ... it's nice to see at a glance what our plans are for each day and the park operating hours (and parade/firework schedules) if we want/need to make a change in plans.

Park hours can change with little advance notice, although such late breaking changes are usually in the direction of an earlier opening or a later closing.

I have always seen white cards about four by eight inches upright, in the rack with the park maps and brochures, published more or less weekly and giving park hours. There is one for each major park and one summarizing all of the parks.

Sorry to hear that you had a problem. As others said, the park hours are available far in advance online. Also, the monthly schedule is available at the parks.

Don't know what happened during your visit, but please don't let that spoil your next trip.

This is correct; you can find these cards (They have different colors, not only white) in the same racks where the park maps are. They have detailed information of show schedules and a lot of last minute info. You can find them in the Hotels lobby, in every store, in the park entrance...
