I went and did my shopping this morning like I always so and I have been spending to much money. I know many on this board do stuff with CVS, I just started reading that thread.

Thanks everyone

I've used the grocery game but it got to be too much going to several stores for certain deals. Thankfully, my Jewel (owned by Albertsons) takes all expired and competitor coupons and I save most of my dollars there. I only buy what's on sale and I use my coupons. I currently used a coupon from 1995!! Seriously, using stores that take expired coupons is the best route. I get my sales ads on Wednesday and go through my box of coupons that evening and I do my shopping every Saturday morning.

I use GG at my Shoprite and save between $60.00 and $105.00 per week if I am faithful to it and really plan my shopping. I also get coupons from 3 newspapers and multiple manufacters so I can really stockpile. I have a large pantry and an extra fridge and freezer. I budget the same amout for groceries every week and whatever I save I put away for vacation

I did the $1 GG trial, but I have found a better site that is free. The GG list for my area was wrong more than it was right, and I can not stand waiting until Sunday for a list based on Wednesday's ad (which only gives you to Tue to do the deals).

The site I like shows multiple stores in one "list" so you can really see where the best deals are. You select stores based on your zip code. They also have a coupon database that is searchable, so if you need an off sale item it is easy to see if a coupon is out there. I think you need 10 posts to use the free tools, and your first few posts are moderated (delayed) so it takes a day or two to get going on the site. Well worth the effort.

The lists are under the "coupon resources" and it is called "Grocery Guide"

(I am GREEN with envy about the expireds, no such luck for me)

I also tried the GG trial but cancelled after that. They listed stores for my area that haven't been here for 2 years. When I asked if they were going to update the lists with other stores that are here they basically said pick a store on the list and their site doesn't work for everyone.

I love the grocery game! I currently have 3 lists and save tons. I tried dropping the CVS list and using the list here on the DIS, but I was missing alot of deals without it spelled out for me. For me it was worth adding one list for 63 cents per week - alot easier to sort things out.

You can always do the $1 trial and see how it works for you.

Heading off to try the free site that someone metioned....

I am at that free site now and its pretty good. Everyone nice and theres so much info.

Thanks for the info on the free site. I think I'll check it out tomorrow. :)

I did the grocery game last year. I loved it. It helped keep me busy and saved us alot of money. My husband always asked how much we saved. Plus he loved having all that food and stuff stockpiled. I had to stop because we were going to move across country and didn't want to move all that stuff. But now that I'm in my new house, I signed up again. I'm excited about starting again. They make it so easy to get the best deals.

I'm also a member of refundcents.com. I find really good online deals there. I actually use it to know of online deals on Amazon, Buy.com, and other places and they talk alot about stores that the grocery game doesn't cover like Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc. Plus they love to discuss deals at CVS. These women are hard core into getting good deals. LOL! I think their membership is like $12 for a year. So it's fairly cheap. I just saved $400 this past week with a deal I found on there.

I like to share KindCoupons.org. It is also a great site for finding coupon codes and discounts.
