My husband and I are looking to get a 5th wheel to full-time in for a while until we build our home. We are very interested in the brand Carriage. Does anyone own a Carriage 5th wheel and if you do or have owned one before what do you think about them? I am looking at the Carriage Cameos and Domanis. We like the smaller length like the 32FWS in the Cameo and the Domani 30 footers. I just wanted some input from Carriage owners to see what they like/dislike or any brands recommended for more along the lines of full-timing. Like I said before DISers give the BEST advice!! So my ears are open to recieve :listen:thanks a ton all!!!!!:)

we had considered a carriage before we got our Ti. They are very heavy (king pin) so you need a really, really big truck. If you go to RV.net and ask under the fifth-wheel section you will get lots of responses. Good luck!

Hi,
We have had a Cameo for a couple of years and are very happy with it. Yes it is heavier than some, but I think it is due to sturdy construction. We do not full time. We have had only one problem but had excellent support from carriage when we did. We have a 2007 36 ft, three slider, got a few upgrades and are happy with them. This is our first RV so I am speaking somewhat from ignorance but I would recommend Carriage. If you have specific questions, I would be more than happy to try and answer them.

I think our truck would be big enough for the 32 footers and under. We have a 2006 GMC Sierra 3500 duramax diesel long bed. It is only a single wheel base though not a dually. Yeah it does seem that Carriage 5th wheels are heavier. You know I am also considering other brands but I just love Carriage but they are pretty pricey for us with trying to buy land and build a home and all. So I am open to any suggestions on good brands that people here have experience with. But man I love Carriage. I looked at a Cypress Newmar but don't know if those are good I only saw a used one for sale. I think I just need something that is affordable but reliable and comfortable. OH, and one big thing for me is I have to have washer/dryer connections to do laundry. Anyway thanks for replying to me. I will check out rv.net and KPSmithSR with your Cameo did you ever encounter any leaks? Oh and this will be our 1st 5th wheel we have only had travel trailers and I hear 5th wheels are easier to pull? Thanks yall!!!!
