Does anyone out there want to be my Dis Friend? 3 PTRs and 1 1/2 TRs in Progress!

I ironed it on to my zebra fabric then traced a Mickey head on it and cut it out then you just remove the backing and iron it on the shirt.

Okay, I've always wondered, how do you cut the edges so straight without any fraying happening?? Or any of those zig zaggy edges. Sharp scissors? Slow cutting? I'm so afraid I would jack this up. Did you use fray check or anything?? Does the iron on stuff make it stiff?

33582_524354258389_68801064_30941578_1676776_n.jpg

OMG This turned out perfectly. I now NEED one!!!!! :scared1:

So now we should be able to watch Fantasmic! and still have an hour and 45 minutes to make it to DTD for our reservation!

Thank God!!! :cool1:

Also, I don't know if any of you do photopass but we always do it. And we like to pre-order our Photopass CD because it saves $50 opposed to waiting till you get back.

Ooh! Ooh! I JUST did this, but when I saw you could also pre order the personalized photo cover book thing, and seeing as this is our first Mommy & Me trip and DD's 1st trip to the world...well I simply needed to get it too!! I SO cannot wait to see it!!!!

After we've done the signing we're going to head over to have our picture taken with Santa :santa:. Yes, I know I'm 24 but I just can't resist, besides, everyone's a kid at WDW!

Where is he at DTD?? I LOOOOOOOVE :santa:

O M Friking G!!!! This is the cutest ever and I now must get to work on mine!! Now where'd I put that magic wand? :wizard: :rotfl2:

Has anyone done the Festival of the Seasons at Downtown Disney? What exactly is it?

Yeah, what is this???

ITA, I am trying to get as much Xmas specific stuff in as I can, without overloading my DD with too much vacation. I read one TR where the mom and DD started getting sick and throwing up on day 4 or 5 because it had just been non-stop. Her DD was a lot older than mine, so I have to make sure we go at our own pace. I hate the idea of having to book ADR's so far in advance. It makes me feel like I HAVE to be somewhere and kind of rush around.

Oh! Also, incase you haven't hear, at Fort Wilderness, they do Slegh Rides during Christmas time. A horse drawn sleigh takes you on a 25 (?) minute ride around the grounds and through the area the RV's are parked in. I hear tell that the RV/Camper people go berzerk with Christmas decorations and that it is a sight not to be missed. They also play Christmas music in the sleigh while you ride around. Might be something to look into for you.

The number to call would be
Walt Disney World Resort Recreation Reservations (407) 939-7529

Top 7 restaurants (take into acount we've not done a signature restaurant since 2003 when we went to Brown Derby which we did NOT care for at all). Our top 7 which we return to year after year (or every other year) are:

1. LeCellier
2. Fulton's (not on dining plan)
3. Crystal Palace (breakfast only)
4. Plaza (this is always our last meal of the trip
5. Yak & Yeti
6. Boma (breakfast only)
7. Flame Tree Barbecue

I'm very excited to try Le Cellier and Fulton's. We did the Plaza on our last trip and LOVED it. I always avoided it thinking it'd be a typical "sandwich place" but it was sooo good. We're planning to go back on our March trip. I also really want to try Boma sometime! Especially after seeing the pics on your TR!

Finally, all caught up.

I don't feel like I qualify for the 7 favorite restaurants survey , since I've never eaten at any Disney World restaurants (gasp), but I'll list the ones I'm looking forward to trying someday.

1. Whispering Canyon Cafe - for the family style skillet. We lived in Austin for a few years & they had some fabulous BBQ restaurants that served all you could eat family style. I don't expect Whispering Canyon to be Texas quality BBQ, but I'm looking forward to the memories it will bring up of our wonderful years in Austin.
2. Wishes Dessert Party - desserts and fireworks, enough said
3. Turkey Leg cart - who doesn't love a hormone induced supersized turkey leg?
4. Kona Cafe or Captain Cooks - I'm dying to try Tonga Toast.
5. Golden/Diamond Horseshoe - I have fond memories of the Golden Horseshoe (Disneyland) from childhood & the entertainment. I know the Diamond Horseshoe doesn't have the same show, but I think walking through will bring back fond memories.
6. Boatwrights - any restaurant with Crawfish on the menu reminds me of our honeymoon in New Orleans.:lovestruc
7. Biergarten - I  bratwurst

MMM Turky legs! A WDW staple! I love my Kona Cafe and the Tonga Toast is yummy. But, I think I'd get Tonga Toast from Captain Cooks and save Kona for lunch or dinner. Hmm crawfish... I'll have to think about that one :confused3 Not sure if it's on my edible food list :rotfl:

My last note:

Please inform the gentlemen in this picture that I will happily marry either one of them at their earliest convenience. :bride:

That is all.

:lmao:

HAHA I'll be sure to send the message along. Ok, I only quoted this comment but I'm going to respond to all of them (at least I think I got them all covered).

First, congrats on learning to multi-quote! Took me FOREVER to learn how but it definitely makes things easier!

I had a hard time ranking my favorites too and I fretted over it for like an hour before actually hitting the submit button :lmao:. But, I had an even harder time coming up with my least favorites.. I always feel like I'm betraying the attraction :confused3

We ate at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast in April. The food was standard but they characters were so much fun! Especially the Mad Hatter! We're going for dinner this trip and I can't wait for the Step Sisters! I'm also very excited to try Le Cellier in March. I've never really considered booking it, then I read all the hype so, now I just need to see for myself. I wasn't BIG on the food at Les Chefs but we chose this for our candlelight processional package because I really wanted to see Remy too! I think you'll love CInderella's Royal Table, it's so cool sitting INSIDE the castle. Finally, T-rex looks awesome and I am really looking forward to eating here too!

I didn't use anything to prevent my shirts from fraying. I did use fairly sharp scissors in the sense that they weren't like little kids scissors and are fairly new but that's it. To be honest, I think it was the Heat 'n' Bond adhesive that I used to attach them to the shirt that kept the fabric from fraying. I Love my snowman shirt the most and you should definitely try to make one! If you want, I'll post the outline that I used for the snowman. I had to make it in Paint because I couldn't find one online. The appliques do make the shirt a little thicker and therefore a little stiffer in those areas but it's not really noticeable when you have the shirt on. I found it to be most noticeable when I was folding the shirt to put it in my drawer.

You should check out Ebay for Mickey Waffler! There's quite a few of them, you just have to look for the best deal!

Hm, I'm going to have to look into the Photo Cover Book! That sounds cute and it would be nice to have for our first Christmas trip!

Santa can be found at Santa's Chalet outside the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. I believe he does a meet & greet in Epcot at the American Adventure and during MVMCP by City Hall too!

I'm so excited to do MVMCP! And so lucky that we get to go twice! It was one of those things where I didn't know if I'd get the chance to again so I'm going to take advantage of the opportunity!

I had heard a little about the sleigh rides but after reading your comment I definitely think I'm going to look more into it! It would be really cool and I'd love to see Ft. Wilderness! Hmm... are they open today even though the other reservations are down? Let's find out...

Well first, I forgot to mention that I have that mickey waffle iron and you are seriously making me consider selling it on ebay. I could use some extra cash! DS is really attached to it though!

Apparently I missed the top 7 restaurant survey! Here are mine (not in order, just the top 7)

1. Boma
2. Garden Grill
3. Crystal Palace
4. Ohana
5. Le Cellier
6. Chef Mickey's
7. Kona Cafe

...can you tell I like character meals?

We are a family of throw uppers when to busy. LOL! Well DD did on 2 different trips. Last trip I tried to slow it down more and she did fine though.
The one trip though, I think it was more due to the fact that she licked the pole on the bus one day.

I don't know if I have any favorites. I like some places more than others, but I don't think any of the Disney food is fantastic.
I think CRT was one of my favorites for the experience alone...and the chocolate buckle, ....which has been taken off the menu now.
We enjoyed Hoop Dee Doo, but I think the food was better in 2008 that it was in 2009. We also liked WCC, but the food was almost identical to HDDR. But I think certain places have foods I like better. Like WCC milkshakes are awesome. And so was the s'mores cheesecake.
We had a white chocolate glass slipper at 1900PF that we LOVED!
Pop Century's food court has a great hot fudge sundae for a basic sundae. We have also enjoy CP twice for dinner.
Amd who could forget about a Mickey bar or chocolate dipped pretzel rods from Goofy's?

(do you see a theme here. I seem to mostly remember the deserts? LOL)

I like character meals too! Especially breakfast ones! I really want to try Garden Grill sometime along with Boma and Le Cellier. But, I'm so glad you including Kona! I LOVE it! P.S. I bet you could find some people here on the DIS that would be willing to buy it too but I can't blame your son for being attached to it, it has become one of my most prized possessions! Lol

HaHa I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time but I had to laugh a little when you said your daughter licked the pole on the bus. It always amazing me the things like at Disney, I sat behind a family on a ride once and the little kid spent the whole ride running their mouth/tongue back and forth along the top of the seat. Parents didn't say a word though...

I began to see a trend in the dessert/chocolate maybe a little bit of BBQ but I'm all about that! I have to say though, I have definitely had some meals at Disney that I would consider FANTASTIC! Sure there's some that are just okay but the Pan Asian noodles at Kona and my steak at Yachtman's Steakhouse were AWESOME!

PAID OFF PRANCE!!

At 47 days to go, I called and paid off our trip today! I was gonna do it a couple days ago but they shut the system down. I felt so bad for the CM that answered the phone though. Where we live, there's a grocery store called Giant Eagle that offers Fuel Perks. You get .10 cents off per gallon of gas for every $50 you spend and occassionally they offer .20 cents off per gallon for every $50. Anyway, we save up our money and then we go buy Disney Gift Cards to earn the fuel perks... it was awesome because we went suring double fuel perks and ending up earning a few tanks of free gas but the poor CM had to run through 20 Gift Cards... She was so nice though and now we're all paid off!!

:cool1::cool1::banana::banana::yay::yay::dance3::yay::yay::banana::banana::cool1::cool1:

Oh that poor CM. That's awesome to get some free gas out of it though. Totally worth it!

SO exciting to have it paid off though! And two days early, even! ;) I bet it feels much more real now!

:cool1: :cool1:   :yay: :yay: :dance3: :dance3: :yay: :yay:   :cool1: :cool1:

Well... so much of our trips are similar, it just makes sense we've paid it off on the same day too! Woo hoooooo!!

For the occasion, I've used the same party smilies as you too!

For some wierd reason I haven't been getting the emails from DIS on updates to threads? Sorry I haven't been on, I feel horrible now. So onto your next survey.

We have only been to Disney 2 times. But I thought this should be easy to do, we were there 8 days the first time and 6 full days the next. But boy was I wrong. We ate at the same places both times for the most part. I can't wait til our next trip when we can try some new things. So here is my best shot, I am 100% certain this list will be different in 4 months. Keep in mind I am rating this in comparison to the little choices I have to work with.

Top 7 places to eat around the world
7. Mickey's Backyard BBQ
6. Hollywood & Vine
5. La Cantina de San Angel
4. Pecos Bills
3. Liberty Tree Tavern Character dinner (which makes me cry now that it is no more)
2. Donald's Safari Breakfast
1. Chef Mickeys

Out of these we are revisiting 1, 2, 3, and that's it. Replacing Pecos Bills with Cosmic Rays I think, might still give the new La Cantina a whirl. Hollywood & Vine is being replaced with 50's Prime Time, Not doing Mickey's BBQ, just too expensive for the 6 of us.

YAY! Our trips are getting so much closer!

Don't feel bad, I get behind on my subscriptions too. I would like to try Mickey's Backyard BBQ sometime but it is really expensive so we haven't yet! And Donald's Safari Breakfast too! I was sad when Liberty Tree wasn't a character meal too... I haven't been back since the characters left... I would definitely give Cosmic Rays a try, it's probably one of my favorite quick services. That and Flame Tree BBQ at AK.

YAY for being paid off (sorry I'm behind...so many reports to keep up with and updating mine too).

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Since moving to Cleveland, DBF and I have started a tradition of going to the Pumpkin Patch every year to pick our pumpkins out of the patch. So, I decided to post some pictures.

We go to Gede's Fruit Farm. Here's the sign
33687_524788802559_68801064_30950583_7895608_n.jpg

We tried to find a place where you can take a hayride out to the patch but we couldn't find one so you just try back to this one then bring your pumpkins back with you. Here's a picture of the field:
36077_524788837489_68801064_30950584_2845041_n.jpg

We always take our time walking around to pick out the best ones we can. So here's some pics of us actually picking our pumpkins:
72451_524788877409_68801064_30950585_4748858_n.jpg

Bad pic, I was trying to blow the hair out of my mouth (it was windy):

And, here we are holding the pumpkins we ended up with:

Baby Pumpkin:

Finally, we posed with some little cut-outs near the exit:

We also bought some home made apple cider and honey made from their bee hives!

It's a fun little tradition and I thought it would be nice to share!

Stay tuned for a Disney Update!

Day 7: Dec. 6, 2010 - Magic Kingdom

Last day, be sure to savor the magic. The Magic Kingdom opens at 9:00am. Plan on being at the shuttle stop by 8:10am to catch the first shuttle to the park around 8:20am.

After entering the park, take a moment to take in the scenery, before proceeding down Main Street. Pause when you reach the Hub to take a picture of Cinderella’s castle. Then, head across the bridge to Frontierland and Liberty Square. Head over to Splash Mountain and pick up a Fast Pass. Then take a ride through the wild west on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Follow-up your runaway train ride with a visit with the 999 happy haunts of the Haunted Mansion.

Keep an eye on the time, Mickey’s Toontown Fair should open about 1 hour after the park officially opens. If you want to meet Tinker Bell and her Fairy Friends, you should be in line and ready to go in before it opens. After you’ve had your picture taken in Pixie Hollow, decide if there’s any other characters you’d like to meet.

When finished, head to Adventureland and ride Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean. Follow-up your pirate adventure with Jack Sparrow by heading to Fantasyland.

Check-out the line for Mickey’s Philharmagic, if it’s not bad, go ahead and see the show. If it is, celebrate your merry unbirthday at the Mad Tea Party.

Next, head over to Tomorrowland and pick-up a Fast Pass for Space Mountain before racking up some points on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Also, if you’re hungry, this would be a good time to grab some lunch. I suggest Pecos Bill Café or Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.

After grabbing some food, you should have some extra time, so check-out some rides that didn’t make the list.

Keep an eye on the time, your dinner reservations are at 5:45pm at Kona Café and the Polynesian. You should be there by 5:35pm.

After dinner, think about walking through some shops or riding Space Mountain before heading over to have a Zippity Doo Dah Day on Splash Mountain. Then try finding a spot to watch “Main Street Electrical Parade” between 7:15pm and 7:30pm. After “Main Street Electrical Parade" find a spot to watch “Wishes” unless your current location works.

There are Extra Magic Hours tonight so feel free to spend some extra time checking out your favorite attractions! After you’re finished, take any last photos and grab any last souvenirs on your way out of the park. Then head back to your hotel and get everything ready to head back home tomorrow. The next time you see Cinderella Castle, you’ll be running your half marathon!

Yay for being paid off!!! :woohoo: That's funny that you had to use so many gift cards! :rotfl:

The pumpkin patch looks like fun! I always want to go pumpkin picking but I never do! The baby pumpkin is adorable! :)

That's a nice tradition. We've never been to a pumpkin patch  ..... we've always picked ours out at the grocery store. I'm totally going to a pumpkin patch this year!

Keep an eye on the time, your dinner reservations are at 5:45pm at Kona Café and the Polynesian.

See you there! We're 5pm :rotfl:

Then try finding a spot to watch “SpectroMagic” between 7:15pm and 7:30pm.
After “SpectroMagic” find a spot to watch “Wishes” unless your current location works.

It'll be Disney's Electrical Parade actually. I'm a little sad that it won't be Spectro but excited to see something new.

Great plans for the day!!!

YAY for being paid off (sorry I'm behind...so many reports to keep up with and updating mine too).

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

No worries! I'm pretty behind on mine too so I understand~

Yay for being paid off!!! :woohoo: That's funny that you had to use so many gift cards! :rotfl:

The pumpkin patch looks like fun! I always want to go pumpkin picking but I never do! The baby pumpkin is adorable! :)

You should try the pumpkin patch some time, it's a lot of fun. I think even DBF enjoys it, though he would never really admit it :rotfl:

That baby pumpkin is too cute! :goodvibes Heehee on your cut-out pics

That's a nice tradition. We've never been to a pumpkin patch  ..... we've always picked ours out at the grocery store. I'm totally going to a pumpkin patch this year!

You should definitely try the pumpkin patch! I think Ariana and Demetri especially would really enjoy it.

I'm not entirely sure that's the time for my reservation.. it may actually be at 5:30? But, with the update to the system I couldn't view my reservations online and I have so many confirmation e-mails I didn't want to sort through all of them while I was writing that so I'll have to double check that later. Either way though, we'll definitely see you there! It's my favorite restaurant too so I'll be soo excited!

Thanks for reminding me it's the Electrical Parade. I just automatically wrote Spectro out of habit without even thinking about it. I think you'll like the Electrical Parade. I actually like it better (reminds me of when I was little) but I know a lot of people that like Spectro better so it's one of those things... My only thing is that the Electrical Parade seems a lot shorter...:confused3

Love the pumpkin patch pictures. Looks like you guys had a great time. :)

Just one little suggestion...I'd leave just a few minutes earlier...maybe 10...to catch that bus to the MK just in case you just miss one.

Love the pumpkin patch pictures. Claire's class is going to one next week, and I am driving. She's gone to it the last 2 years as well, and they usually have a nice hayride, but it always is on a cold day. LOL!
I'm not sure yet if we are going to wat the electrical parade. I have a chip on my shoulder that Spectro isn't back yet. LOL!
