Does anyone out there want to be my Dis Friend? 3 PTRs and 1 1/2 TRs in Progress!

39 Days! Exciting! That mickey mail should be coming soon!

No idea about Piglet. He, by the way. But it drives me crazy that his stripes are a sweater. I just thought that was how he was colored, and that was his skin, and then in one of the movies, he has his sweaters out drying on the line, and I just about threw up. I'll be sure to let you know if I see him anywhere but Crystal palace!

Oh, and Whitney the Pooh is very very cute! :lovestruc

Hm, yea that makes me kind of sad about Piglet. I always thought he was just that color too. Though I guess if you look at the original version of Winnie-The-Pooh stories he wears a green jumper/sweater:

I just never really thought about it I guess but it wasn't until Disney took over the characters that Piglet's sweater/jumper thing became pink and Pooh got his red shirt...

Ugh the Disney website is aggravating me too! I think I have 10 ADR's and only 5 are showing up! Luckily I have all of our confirmation #'s and MOST of the emails printed out, so I will just bring a list with me to the parks, just in case. I always do that and have not needed it yet! From what I've been reading, the ADR's are fine and still there, they are just not on the website! :confused3

Here is my list of favorite characters:

6. Favorite Dwarf: Tie between Dopey and Grumpy-Dopey is adorable, but I like Grumpy in Snow White, how he hates her at first, and then loves her the most at the end!
5. Favorite Fab 6: Minnie
4. Favorite Fairy: Tink-love her, even though she's a brat in Peter Pan!
3. Favorite Princess: Belle...she loves to read, like me!
2. Favorite Villan: Hmmm...this is tough...I love the Cheshire Cat, people consider him a villain...Maleficent is pure evil, though!
1. Favorite Overall: I don't know if I can pick one! I guess again it would be Minnie, but I really don't know! I love Mickey as well!

And I'm going to add my own category...Favorite Disney Cat...Marie! :rotfl:

I don't know if the four of them are out at the Christmas party like they were at the Halloween Party. But I found them up front in front of the Roy Disney statue. We have our pic every year taken with Pooh and Tigger (and sometimes Eeyore) in Epcot, but I've never seen Piglet there.

I'll definitely keep my eyes open for them. I saw a picture from one year where they were out at the Christmas party but I'm not sure what year it was... But, I'm crossing my fingers!

I'm joining and need to get caught up!

Amanda

Thanks for joining! You're here just in time for me start talking about the half marathon!

At least 5 of your ADRs are showing up.. absolutely none of mine are except one I just made... It was just nice having them all laid out in front of me in one place when I need to check something.

It's been so fun reading everyone's fav characters! Hm, a favorite cat?? I would probably have to say the Cheshire Cat or Figaro from Pinocchio (he's just so cute).

I got Mickey Mail yesterday!!! Our Magical Express tags arrived. I did place an order to get an extra one and I was told I would receive it about 1-2 days after my originals so it should be coming on Monday or Tuesday! I'll post a picture when I get both sets. I can't wait for my confirmation packet to come! But, it all makes the trip feel more real and closer!

Second, I changed one of my ADRs... After, jenseib asked about my reservation time was going to give me enough time to get back to get a seat for the Main Street Electrical Parade I got to thinking. Our reservation was at 5:10 at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian and the parade starts at 7:00. If it took us at most an hour to eat, then at most 20 minutes to get on the monorail, ride back to MK, and get in the park we wouldn't get there till 6:30. A half hour before the parade is cutting it close for finding a good seat and we would completely miss the Castle Dream Lights. So, I've changed my reservation to a late lunch instead. We'll head over to the Polynesian around 1:30 for a reservation at 2:05pm. This way we can enjoy our favorite restaurant without feeling rushed then we'll be able to watch the Castle lighting and find a good seat for the parade! I'm not too worried about losing that time in the park in the middle of the day because it an EMH night so we'll be able to see anything we missed during that time!

What do you guys think? Is this a good decision? I haven't canceled my 5:10 reservation yet because I wanted to ask you guys but if you think it's a good idea I want to cancel it as soon as possible!

Yay for Mickey Mail! :cool1::cool1:

Well, I'd say go with the lunch switch if seeing the Castle lighting is what you want to do. I'll have seen it earlier in the week so I'm OK with my 5pm at Kona that day. Our favorite parade spot is in Frontierland right outside Splash which is the end of the route so I think we'll get back in time to see MSEP.

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: for Mickey Mail!!!!

I think your change to your plans is a good one. After our experience with the monorail in the afternoon or early evening, I think it is much bettr going for lunch and giving yourself time later to look for your parade spot.

Yahoo for Mickey Mail. I can't wait til that awesome day. We have a long while, I am thinking early January, a good thing to get when all of the emotions come crashing down after the hustle and bustle of the holidays though.

Favorite Characters:
6. Dwarf - Sleepy, because I can relate
5. Fab 6 - Mickey, of course!
4. Fairy - the blue fairy from Pinocchio, love the earn your miracle attitude
3. Princess - Cinderella, because she's sweet & cheerful no matter what
2. Villian - Gaston, he may be a jerk, but he's a hot jerk
1. Overall - Dumbo, everyone is mean to him, but he keeps his chin up & in the he end succeeds

This was my original thinking as well. Skip the lights and head for a spot in Frontierland. But, I talked with my mom and seeing as we've never gone during Christmas time and don't know when we'll get the chance again, so we want to take in as much of it as possible. I don't think we would have had a problem with our 5:10 reservation but I think we'll go with the 2:05 to see the castle lighting.

Yea, it's our last night so I want to make sure we get to do everything we want. Doing the lunch will allow us to see the castle lights, find a good spot on Main Street to watch the parade and then we won't have to rush over to see the fireworks either! Thanks for the reassurance, always makes me feel more confident in my decisions though!

I was so excited to get my Mickey Mail! And the way I figure it, we should be getting our info for our Jan. trip when I get back from my Nov/Dec trip! That'll be nice to come home too! I love that you picked the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio! I didn't even think of her because I like Tinker Bell so much but the Blue Fairy is great too! Oh, and I also love Dumbo... Hallmark carries a line of home accessories that have Disney quotes on them and one of my favorites is from Dumbo: "The very things that brought you down are going to lift you up". I just think it's a really nice quote for life in general!

That is a great quote! I'll have to look for the Disney quote merchandise the next time I'm near a Hallmark store.

I think it's a good idea to do an early ADR if you want to see the dream lights get turned on! I have yet to see the lighting, I have seen the castle lit up, but never the actual lighting of it, I'm hoping to squeeze that in somewhere! :confused3

Yay for Mickey Mail!!! :woohoo: :yay: :cool1:

Yea, you should definitely check it out. They have a lot of really cute ones. I have another one that is a quote by Walt Disney that says "Tomorrow can be a wonderful age." I like it because even though I'm growing up I can still feel like a kid at Disney!

Yea, I talked to my mom and we both agreed we'd like to see the castle lighting as least twice and this is really the only other time we'll get to see it other than at our second MVMCP. So, I posted that I would be canceling my other reservation on the DEC ADR cancellation thread and if no one responds by tomorrow I'm going to call and cancel it. You should definitely try to squeeze it in, I bet it's amazing!:santa:

And finally, for those of you who have been reading along, I mentioned back in my Epcot Day Plans that I was making Passports for my mom and I. We did the Passports they sell in the parks last June and really enjoyed it. This time we wanted to take them to the different stations and ask if they would write a Holiday message for us. Well, one of the things I wanted to put on the individual country pages were Mickey heads that looked like that country's flag. I had seen examples on line but didn't like the way they printed out. So, I made mine individually out of paper and various other scrapbooking materials. I haven't finished the pages yet but here's the different Mickey head flags:

(Please ignore the weird grid background. I took the pictures on my scrapbooking mat)

I have to say, they were not easy to make. Some of them still need some touch ups and it was definitely a learning process. I think the set for my mom's passport came out a little cleaner cut. But, overall I'm very happy with them and am excited to get my whole book put together!

Hooray for mickey mail!

Those mickey heads are AMAZING. SO beautiful! I bet you get lots of comments about them at the countries, they are really going to notice and appreciate them! Great job!

Um, where did everybody go? I only go one response to my countdown this week and then she left to go to WDW!! Please come back, I can't wait to here your favorite snack options!

Maybe if I do an update on Trip #2 some of you will come back! So, here goes.

Trip #2

When: Dec. 10 - 12, 2010
Where: Moonlight Basin Resort in Big Sky, Montana
Who: DBF and I

Let's start by talking about how this trip came to be. DBF comes from a VERY big family and it just so happens that one of his uncles owns a ski resort in Big Sky, MT. He's been out there twice to visit but not since he was a freshman in high school so that was about 9 years ago. He's been wanting to take me for the last 5 years... well, on Dec. 8th we will have been dating for exactly 5 years and he decided that he really wanted to go. But, he can't take a lot of time off work so that why it's such a short trip. The nice thing though is that the only thing we have to pay for for the entire trip is our airfare and rental car. We used frequent flyer miles to pay for one of our flights and used our change money to pay for the other (change money is the change we've collected and I took it to the bank to cash it and then we've been saving it.

Unlike Disney, there isn't a whole lot of planning involved. Infact, all we did was pick dates, book a flight, and set up a rental car. His uncle reserved us a cabin and got us three day ski passes. Wasn't anything else to do...

So, here's the plan:

My mom and I get back from Disney Dec. 7th. I will head back to Cleveland that evening. I have to work on the 8th and 9th (p.s. my job is really lenient and well it's a marina so there isn't a whole lot going on this time of year seeing as Lake Erie is usually frozen so it's not a big deal that I'm missing so much work in a row). Then...

Thursday Dec. 9th, 2010
We'll head to my parents house after work. Flights out of Pittsburgh were significantly cheaper than flying out of Cleveland or Akron. Plus, my mom can take us to the airport and we won't have to pay to leave our car.

Friday Dec. 10th, 2010
Our flight leaves Pittsburgh at 7:47am. We have an hour and a half layover in Denver, CO and then we land in Bozeman, MT at 1:20pm their time. We pick up our rental car and then drive the hour to his uncle's resort.

Here's some picture from the resort website:

Here's the website if you want to check it out:

DBF and I both really like skiing and his uncle has set us up with a 3-day ski pass but there's no guarantee there will be a lot of snow so we'll see.

We probably ski Friday afternoon/night after getting situated in our room.

Saturday Dec. 11th, 2010

We'll probably spend more of this day skiing as well. I'm sure we'll head over to visit with his family this night for dinner.

Sunday, Dec. 12th, 2010

We may ski early this morning but I'm not sure. We'll have to head to the airport around 11:00am. Our flight leaves at 1:48pm. We have a two hour layover in Denver, CO again before landing back in Pittsburgh around 10:36pm. Here's the yucky part. DBF has to go to work the next day so my parents will meet us at the airport to give us our car and then we'll have to drive the 2+ hours back to Cleveland.

Well, that's about it for that trip. I'm really excited to go! I've never been to Montana and I love skiing so it should be a lot of fun! I know it isn't really Disney related but I wanted to include this trip in my PTR anyway.

I've been behind, but still reading here ant there.

That resort looks beautiful. I am not a winter type person...LOL! and have never skid, but that place looks fun.

For snacks, I haven't really tried too many different ones.
I usually go with Miceky bars. I do like tiedye cheesecake at POP, but I hate teh redvelvet crust they have for it. I also like Pops hot fudge sundaes, and Goffys chocolate dipped pretzel rods.
