i have been to WDW twice and my moto has been 'i have to run to do this, run to do that.' and i get really stressed and tired over it. (and i still didn't do a quarter of the WDW).

does anyone else get like this?

hopefully i am going next month and i am trying my best to change my way of thinking 'don't try and to EVERYTHING in the parks' - pick bits and pieces, don't walk a hundred miles everywhere, just try and chill.

is this easier said than done?

do you have this attitude or do you have to do commando and try and see everything you possibly can?

I now after many camando runs set goalss of thing I must do then if I get them done at a leaserly pace I get other things in .I use Fastpass to the fullest.

I'm the early riser of my bunch i offen go to the parks by myself and they catch up.This keep harmony among the group and lets me get all my rides out of the way.

I think overall we have better vacations now and are realisticly are getting just as much done.We make sure we do anything new 1st ,then our must dos' then our let's go here while it avail.

We can now enjoy the parades and fireworks inbetween things from certain spots (not needing to be frontrow main street )and that save 2 or more rides to get done .

Of coarse it's nice to know that we will be going 2 or 3 times a year so if we miss something (ride refurbs) we know we will catch it next time.

We are probably the exact opposite - we take it very slowly and just enjoy - if we see something, fine - if not, that's fine too. We like to relax and enjoy and not feel rushed.

No. It gives me a reason to plan another trip. I am not a Disney-junkie like many that some here, so I do need a reason to go back. Missing more than 1 thing from each park on a trip warrants that return vacation.

Next vacation my family and I go on will be a RC Cruise or Hawaiian vacation.

I get like this, but it doesn't stress me out.

We like to be on the go.

During our first trip (7 nights) we only entered a major theme park 5 days. I hated it. I was nice to relax in the mornings, but by late afternoon, I was ready to hit a park. :hyper: :hyper:

We love our commando trips. I'd never spend hours around a pool (30 minutes to a hour, 3 times during our trip is plenty for us. We'd never spend much time relaxing in our room.

There's so much to do, not to mention the amount of money it costs to get there. :scared1: I just can't see wasting valuable Disney time doing "nothing". :hourglass :hourglass

I will admit, after our trips I come home EXHAUSTED, but I wouldn't have it any other way. ::yes:: :flower3:

That's exactly why we keep going back ... so we don't have to stress ourselves about seeing everything in one trip.

I'm torn. I haven't been to Disney in 10 years, but used to go every couple of weeks for a few years. Back then, of course we would just pop in and do the stuff we wanted. I have a new set of kids now (9, 9 and 11) who have never been to WDW. I want them to see everything, but I also want them to be happy and energized.

We have been going to DW every year since 2000. Every year my DH says, "If we see everything this year, we don't go back next year." We spend a lot of time by the pool and take the parks at our own pace. Now that the kids are older we can do more but we still don't push too hard. We all have a great time, no one gets cranky and there's always something to look forward to next time. :earsboy:

I can't help it...I must see everyting or try. I don't get tired, I get this big burst of energy when I get to the World.

I know that there's no way we can see/do everything in one trip; our last two trips were 10 days and 7 days, and there is plenty that we missed.

What I do, is make sit down and look at everything there is to do (allears, etc) and decide what we MUST do to make sure the trip is what we want, then what we'd like to do if we have the time, and what doesn't matter or appeal to us. I have a basic plan for each park based off that list; not a strict plan that we will ride Dumbo at 9:03 am on Tuesday or anything like that, but a basic like we'll go to MK on Tuesday, have breakfast before opening at Crystal Palace (our tradition, if you call two trips a tradition, lol), then we hit Fantasyland. After that, we do what we want, but try to do as much as we can on our "want to" list.

With the ages of our boys, and their routine, afternoon breaks/naps are a must for us. Mini golf and DTD are both things we enjoy, so we plan time for those as well.

The last two years, we've done everything on our "want to" list each trip, and some things twice in the same trip. It won't work for all, but it makes us happy.

I used to be like that. I think the best trip I ever took was my last one, because we dedicated ourselves to seeing all the "other" things that we bypassed, trying to do "everything".

Does that make any sense? We would walk right past smaller attractions, because in our minds, we just had to do all the bigger ones.

This will be our first trip. I will want to see & do it all. Realistically, I know we won't. I am a "doer." I figure I can relax at home. DH is from the opposite school. He likes an hour or two at the pool each day. Yuck. Within 1 hour, I am going crazy...wanting to get going again. This is based on our past trips to Seaworld & Universal.

This trip is going to be an adjustment from last year, where we could be leasurely & still get to see/do everything. (FOTL at universal makes this so easy)

I used to do that, but now that we've been many times and are fortunate enough to stay for 2 weeks, we only spend about 4 hours at a time in the parks, then move on to something else. We spend much time at the resort and doing other activities.

I am trying to convice DH of this for our trip at the end of the month. We were just there in August and we are going back again (after this Jan trip) in Dec. with his mom. I would love to take it easy and have fun, but I know we will end up hitting all four parks at commando speed in 2 days!

i wish that i didn't get so tired so easily - i am terrible.

i sit in an office all day and i don't have much exercise - maybe i should join a walking programme before i hopefully go to WDW.

Over all the trips I have taken to WDW, I would say that I have done about 90% of what they have to experience. With that number, I am not including all of the resorts to stay at or all the restaurants. The stuff I am missing right now is mainly in AK. I haven't done a whole lot here because I just can't get into this park for some reason. I am hoping that if we get to go again this year, we will be able to do some of the stuff that we haven't done yet. At MK, I haven't and will not do Stitch. I can't stand that little character. I did Alien Encounter though so I feel like I am covered with that. At MGM, I haven't done Drew Carey's Soundstage or Who Want's to be a Millionare. I haven't done these because I didn't want to take away from the rest of the park that I love so much.

I guess Im just the opposite here. We go and though we would love to see and do everything, it is our vacation and we aren't going to stress ourselves over what we have or haven't done. We know that everytime we go there is going to be something new and fun for us. We love all aspects of disney world from the hotels and the pools to shopping and all that different places to eat. We consider each part of that in our vacation and not just gotta get on this ride or see that show. In my pea brain its always going to be there and reason for me to go back. Did I also mention Im too lazy to rush around unless its raining :rotfl2:

I forced myself into non-commando mode from the first time I went with DD. She was 6 at the time and I just knew that going commando would stress her out and ruin the trip (plus I have a knee issue), so I took a deep breath and said to myself that we would go at her pace, make sure she was in bed when she needed to be (she had given up naps by then), etc..... It was wonderful! We both had a thousand Magical memories to go home with and our two trips since then have been just as fun because there were new things to do. I figure that if we're lucky enough to be able to keep going, there will always be something new - a new tour (when she's older for most), a new character meal, whatever......

Honestly, the relaxing trip has worked well for us. We spend every day in a park and don't get burned out. We go home happy and DD is always chattering about what she DID, not what she DIDN'T do.......
