I am the one who started the What do you absolutely hate... threads so I am being nice now. I have to admit that we loved POFQ and after reading the CBR and CSR threads think that is where we will end up. I am just curious if anyone did not like POFQ and why. I personally love it and can't imagine anyone not liking it.

I loved it there as well. It has just about the perfect layout, the landscaping is nice, transportation is reliable. I will be curious to see if anyone doesnt like it there and why.

We stayed in the furthest building on the top floor with two young kids so it was a looooooong walk to the buses and guess what? We still LOVED IT! :cloud9:

I guess I'm in the minority here since I really didn't enjoy POFQ. And I really can't put my finger on why. Riverside, however, I love. :confused3

If you've read the threads you know that some people don't like the bus situation. After POFQ the bus makes several stops at POR. Some guests don't like having to go to another resort for table service meals. Some guests prefer the food, pool and health club at CSR.

I would think any guest who want to be able to use a gym would prefer CSR over the other moderates. I can't imagine anyone in that situation would like staying at POFQ (or any other moderate) and then have to pay to use the health club at another resort. Not to mention the transportation issues.

I hate people who don't understand that some guests have different criteria in deciding on what resort to stay in. I hate people who seem to think that people who have different opinions than they do have wrong opinions.

We love POFQ!! I think this is now our new favorite moderate resort. We had so much fun there. And we are planning to head back there again in August!

It's our favorite moderate! We love it there! Can't wait until the end of September when we return!

We didn't love it. We did love Riverside!

We didn't love the theme pool, the fact there was no sit down restaurant. It just wasn't our cup of tea. We definitely did not hate it though.

Hate is a really strong word. :sad1:
I dont think that anyone on this thread was implying that anyone elses opinion was wrong. I certainly don't feel that because someone has a different opinion than I do, that they are wrong. If the world was made up of people with the same opinion, it would be pretty boring. I think the nice thing about Disney World resorts is that there are so many options, themes and types of accomodations. It is always interesting to read on these boards what different people find appealing.

BUT hate is the word OP uses in asking for opinions on resorts. My post was nothing but facts. A person who wants a table service restaurant or a health club will hate POFQ since it doesn't offer either amenity.

Granted, that is the word used when asking for opinions. Personally, I cant imagine hating any resort. I prefer having a restaurant onsite, part of the reason we bought DVC, and I dont hate POFQ. This year we need to add a couple of nights on cash, so we are going back to POFQ. I have no problem with that. There are so many restaurants in the parks that I think I can make do for a couple of days without one onsite.

As far as the healthclub goes, I agree, that would be a pain if you had to have a healthclub, but there wasnt one at your resort. I guess in that situation you could either pay to use another resorts fitness facilities (which is unfortunate that you would have to pay) or you can get your exercise by jogging/walking around the resort. It is my opinion, that Disney should allow all resort guests to have access to fitness facilities for free. After all, they do have plenty of money to put a gym at each of the resorts. :earboy2:

In any event, I understand and respect what you are saying. Like I said before, that is why its great that there are so many different resorts. Every guest is different and does have different needs and priorities. Disney does a pretty darn good job trying to accomodate everyone.

My DH and I enjoyed staying there before we had kids. Now with two children I just don't think there is much to do at the resort itself. Also, the pool is pretty lame for older children. I do not think it is very convenient to go to POR to find activites to do with the kids when you are staying at POFQ.

Actually, the OP asks, "Does anyone not like POFQ?" Your statements that you "hate people who don't understand that some guests have different criteria in deciding on what resort to stay in," and you "hate people who seem to think that people who have different opinions than they do have wrong opinions" attack people, not POFQ. Besides, they are self-contradictory at best.

This doesn't mean that they HATE POFQ. It probably means that it is not their first choice. I like table service, but it doesn't mean that I HATE POFQ coz they don't have one.

Anyways... POFQ is my favorite moderate resort.

No restaurant and I'm not keen on the room decor. Something about it reminds me of a funeral home. Can't quite put a finger on it. Maybe it is the dark woods. The fact that they only have one pool isn't appealing either.

POFQ is my least favorite of the moderates. I don't dislike it but I find it disappointing in the way the theme was executed. It is still pretty just a bit bland and redundant. The gardens are very pretty and I did like the old room interiors more than I expected. IMHO POFQ should have been designed as a deluxe resort with interior corridors and real wrought iron balconies more on par with Dinseylands New Orleans Square.

We also love FQ !!! Stayed at CBR but didn't like it because it just seems too big and just didn't have the "Disney" feel !!! We're going back in December and are thinking about switching from WL to FQ !!! We will be visiting WL if we do stay at FQ just to take in the lobby view !!!! :cool1: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I know what you mean. I get the same "funeral home" feeling.

I've never actually stayed there, but I've walked around most of the resort and have seen a lot of pictures. The theme is not my cup of tea. I've toured all the Disney World resorts and like them all, except for POFQ and POR.

Didn't LOVE the pool area, but it was fine-the beautiful grounds and rooms (which I think are REALLY pretty) made up for it. We usually eat our sit-downs in the parks, so the food court was fine otherwise. I would definitely go back.

We only used the bus for the MK. Since it was the morning, it filled up and went straight there. On the way back, we were dropped off first, so no problem there.
