I made a ADR for Nine Dragons because we're on the meal plan for 9 nights and to be honest, we love it but I feel like I'm eating the same thing every night by the end of vacation. I booked Nine Dragons because I saw someone do a trip report and she said she loved it and showed pictures of awesome Chinese food. Am I making a mistake? Should I book Spoodles instead? Linda

I ate ate Nine Dragons last year and actually enjoyed it very much! I wasn't originally going to eat there but something came up at the last minute and, after canceling our original ADR, that was the only place left in Epcot to eat. I thought the food was very good and portions huge. Everyone else in our party liked it too. People always say you can get Chinese food anywhere so why bother with Nine Dragons. I thought the food tasted a little different, in my opinion, than your regular Chinese place. Much better than your normal place.

We also ate at Spoodles last year and enjoyed it alot. We enjoyed it so much we are going back this year. Personally, I am not as excited now as everyone because the menu last year was better. If I had to pick between the two I would go with Nine Dragons.

Do Nine Dragons!!!! We love it!!!!! You can read my report about it on the dining reviews page and the thread is called KnJs feasting with pics (I would post a link, but I am not that technologically advance). Go for it, it will be a great change, and it is very quiet!!!!!

We loved Nine Dragons. It's real Chinese food, and I can't believe some people compare it to Panda Express... that's like comparing San Angel Inn to Taco Bell IMO. :confused3

Food was great, we had a good server, and the restaurant is beautiful.
And you're right, it was nice to eat something different after 5 days of meat-and-potatoes.

My sister and I always try to eat there when we are at Disney World...and never could understand some of the negative reviews...We like it! :thumbsup2

we have been 9 Dragons' fans for YEARS! it was one of the best meals of the trip! everything was great, service was outstanding, great bang for one's dining plan buck and a nice change of pace from a lot of the standard wdw restaurants... GO FOR IT! :)

Nine Dragons is delicious and we have enjoyed it every time. But it's not "real" Chinese food. We dine regularly in our "Chinatown" (one of the oldest in the country) and that's we you will find real Chinese food (outside of China). Egg rolls, pot stickers, General Tsao's Chicken, fried rice, sweet & sour dishes, etc. are among the many delicious dishes you will find at Nine Dragons (and at Panda Express, etc.)but these are "Americanized Chinese" dishes and not what is considered "real" Chinese food. They do have some really nice original dishes there too!

We love it as well. I have no expertise in what is considered "real" Chinese food, but the food there reminds me of PF Chang (especially the hot and sour soup, which I love) and it's a nice calm atmosphere.

We like it as well......having never been to Asia I am limited to Chinese friends that are 1st generation and they say is isn't bad so I will take that as a good.
We discovered it one day a few years ago when we couldn't get in anywhere else......nice suprise.

I like Nine Dragons. It isn't a must-do for me, but the food and service is good, and it's a very pretty dining room.

We went to DWD for our honeymoon almost 5½ years ago. The one restaurant that stands out to me is Nine Dragons because they serve the absolute best honey sesame chicken I've ever had!! We're looking forward to eating there again next month!

We avoided Nine Dragons for our first 20 vacations to WDW because of the negative reviews. We tried it last year for the first time and were shocked at how much we enjoyed it! We had this skewered beef appy that was outstanding--so good we sent for another order! The honey-sesame chicken was great and the dessert was...not good. It was some kind of mousse thing and it was the only item offered that night. Hopefully, they have increased their dessert offerings. Otherwise--enjoy! The restaurant is lovely to look at, as well.

If I picked my dining choices based on the reviews I've read, I'd never eat at Disney World. There's always going to be one person or two who doesn't like something about a place. Nine Dragons is one of the two places we are considering for a lunch over Thanksgiving weekend. Biergarten is the other one and that gets bad reviews too. We don't care. Years ago, LeCellier got bad reviews (honestly). We ate there anyway. Now all of a sudden it's great. The "dark" atmosphere that was bad then is now "charming".

We love 9 Dragons. My DD5, who was adopted from China, absolutely goes crazy for their hot and sour soup and the tofu entree. She will literally eat until she can't eat any more. We eat there every trip to make sure that the kidlet gets something to eat that she likes.

Glad to hear all the good reviews. We have never eaten here with all of our Disney trips. We always eat in Japan and in fact, Japan being closed is the reason for our choosing China. We were called a few weeks ago and told that the restaurant wasn't going to be opened as of the end of Sept and had to rebook. This was our choice out of the few we had. Already eating in Mexico and Canada n/a. We also were given VIP tickets to Illuminations as a token. Hopefully we will have a good experience as many of you have stated. Thanks!!

We love the Nine Dragons! It is one of our favorite WDW restaurants. The General Tso's Chicken is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!

ANother must do for us each trip. We have noticed over the past few years that with the popularity of the dining plan the entree portions have shrunk. We used to order a family dinner for two and they would bring out two platters heaped with entrees and a large bowl of rice to share. We easily could share this with our two girls with one added entree and an extra order of spring rolls. The last visit in May we ordered as always and they brought out three pre plated portions of entree with a scoop of rice on each plate. Younger DD immediately took one entire plate for herself leaving the rest of us to split two plates! :rotfl: Luckily there is a pastry shop in France.........:)

Not a favorite place. But not shabby either!
We ate there last around a month ago. Food tasted very fresh. Good service and selection too! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
