My nephew has many food allergies. He just started kindergarten last week. The school is very proactive about this stuff; my sister & BIL met with the teacher, the nurse, the vice principal about his allergies and his needs. He carries an Epi-Pen in case he has a reaction to something. The school wants him to carry it with him at all times in a RED fanny pack. And that's the problem. My sister had an old red fanny pack, but it had a small hole and she's afraid it'll get worse. She looked for a new one, but can only find blue or black fanny packs. I looked in my local Wal-Mart today, and they didn't have a red one. Has anyone seen a red fanny pack anywhere? I'm going to try Kmart tomorrow. I tried a Dollar Store, Modell's (a sporting goods store), and I've had no luck. I'm looking on ebay-again nothing. Any leads would be appreciated!

Also I did a google search for "fanny pack" and quite a few sites came up, Bass Pro, etc...

The other idea I have, is she has a red pack already? But it has a hole in it - DUCT TAPE - and yes duct tape does come in red...

I would encourage you to talk to the school concerning trouble locating a red pack, if they need it in red, perhaps they could purchase it, and then when he graduates from that school, it stays with the school - so in effect its school property much like the hearing aides my son uses... or other pieces of vital equipment used for special needs kids!!

You could try a medical supply store. They may sell small fanny packs with first aid supplies in them. You could keed the first aid supplies for the house and your nephew could use the fanny pack.

I found two red fanny packs a while back at the outlet stores near us. They were in the Totes/Isotoner/SunglassWorld store. Both contain an EpiPen & Albuterol inhaler - one for each son.
I am glad your nephew's school will let him carry it. Ours insists on keeping the EpiPen in the health room but would allow the inhaler on the bus.

Try the Red Cross...they may have a first aid kit/pack that will work.
