does anyone know what this car sticker means?

I see this sticker on cars around here a lot and have no idea what it means. I can't even find a picture of it on the Internet because I'm not sure what it's called.

The sticker is round and has a black anchor in it with a slash through it.

No anchoring?? What could that mean?

Greetings from Southeastern CT...That sticker is for those people who live in "Noank" CT ...Otherwise known as "Noankers"...

OMG I would have NEVER guessed that!! LOL no wonder why I only see them around here and can't find it on the internet!! Now I feel so silly for putting this on a nationwide message board - it's a local thing! THANKS! What a great idea for a sticker. A friend of mine used to keep her boat in Noank when we were kids. Nice town!

omg - thanks for posting this! my parents live close to noank and we kept seeing these stickers when i was up there last month. my mom had no idea what they were either. now i can go tell her. she is an english teacher so i am sure she will get a kick out of it.

That's too funny!! "OBX" stickers were very popular back in the 90's around here and NC (means Outerbanks for those that don't know). Then all of a sudden all of these other stickers started coming out with three letters (letters from the city/town that people liked/were from). 90% of them we could never figure out what city/town it was even referring too!!

That would have baffled me too!! No ankers!
