Mobile, AL. has been completely 4-laned? How long does it take to travel from Hattiesburg to Mobile and then to Orlando? Is 98 to I-10 the quickest way or is there another route quicker?

Thanks

hattiesburg to mobile is 4 laned. past that i cant remember i only go that way to the beach. we always fly to disney...i hate driving:sick: it takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs to go from hattiesburg to mobile. i prefer going hwy 15 to mobile but i dont know if that is a good route for you. I am near laurel,ms. if i can help more please let me know.

98 W is completely four-laned all the way from 59 to the AL/MS border. From there to Mobile or I-10, its going to take a while with the traffic and 2 lane roads in Semmes and Wilmer. I'd count on about 2 hours from H'burg to Mobile.
I think I would go 98W to I-65 south and then catch I-10 West. You could also just take 98 all the way into downtown and catch I-10 there. Then I-10 to I-75 in Florida.

We drove from the New Orleans area a few years back and it was a long drive! I think this time we're going to try to catch a good Southwest DING fare from Jackson. It's too bad Gulfport doesn't have a direct Orlando flight.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I hope I can make it to Disney from Cleveland, MS in 12 hours.

I agree with the 98 to Mobile, then 65, then !-10. sometimes we fly and sometimes we drive. I live about an 1 1/2 hours NW of Hattiesburg. It takes us exactly 10 hours to drive to Disney. Of course, that is not counting losing the hour and stopping for meals. The last time we drove, I kept up with the time because I was curious to know EXACTLY how long it took, LOL

From I-10 at Pensacola to WDW takes us about 6.5-7 hours which includes 1 or 2 potty breaks and a quick lunch (fast food). We drive about 70-75mph and are being passed constantly by other cars.
