Does anyone know about hotel discount/free passes if someone is doing an internship?

I didn't know where to post this on the boards. My cousin is doing an internship at WDW this coming semester. He said he can get 40% off hotel rates for family, and free passes. He said he can do this 6 times for 3 people in the 14 weeks he is there. Was wondering if this means free passes for the family's entire stay?? Or if we went for 6 days if that would use up all of his free passes allowed? Or if this is for immediate family only? Anyone who has more info, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!!

Congrats to your cousin!
All cast members get what's called a "Blue Card"...it allows admission, in his case 6 times a year, for up to three guests of his, and he MUST be present to let you in. It is six visits, so think of it as a 6 day park hopper that expires in 6 months. He can let the three guests in 6 times within that 6 month period (excluding certain stated black out dates). It is good for the 4 theme parks, not for the water parks or Disneyquest. Hope this helps!

Sounds like he is referring to his Main Gate Pass - which can be used 1X per day for up to 3 people, (Use of the MGP is not limited to family only.) and "free passes" are not the same as separate comp tickets that would entitle one person entrance to any one WDW theme park.. If using the MGP, he will have to meet you at the CM entrance to whatever WDW theme park you will be going to. The MGP cannot get anyone into the WDW water parks and it is subject to certain blackout dates.

Then, upon entering, each person will probably get a park hopper pass to go to other WDW theme parks.

Yes, you will use up all of his allotted MGP entrances.

Thank you both so much! I will obviously have to talk to him to find out more. We have hopper passes leftover from last time (I have 4 days and my husband has 3) so even if we used that for 1 extra day for my husband, that would be nice. Do you have any info on the hotel?? Is he allowed unlimited discounts? I know I know, I should just talk to him.
By the way, did I mention how JEALOUS I am that he is going there an entire semester?!?! He's never been to WDW (at age 21) and is really excited.
