Does anyone know about DVC Dining plan

I am a renter and I want to ask for the dining plan. I recently read a thread on this board that explained it very well but I cannot find it. Does anyone know details of cost, start date, and how to reserve it? Thanks.

The dining plan can be added for stays beginning April 1st. The dining plan must be added for every person on the reservation and be for the duration of the stay. MS must be notified of the dining plan reservation at least 48 hours in advance of check-in, but you do not pay until you arrive.

I believe the plan is $37.99 for adults and $10.99 for kids per night.

Here is a link to a thread under the planning board. We used the dining plan and really saved money. We had fantastic meals. See if you can find my posting in the thread. I think it is on page 33 or so. I describe our experience this past February 2006.

The Dining Plan, the same basic plan that is sold as part of a package to regular Disney resort guests, will be available for people that stay at DVC resorts on points beginning April 1st. The cost is $38 per adult, $11 per child 3 to 9 per night of your stay. The plan must be purchased for the entire length of your stay for everyone in your room. You must add the plan to your reservation prior to check-in at your resort, it must be linked into your reservation. You pay for the plan when you check-in. Have the person you are renting from call Member Services to add the plan, or you can call yourself once you receive your room confirmation number to confirm the ressie and add dining. General questions about your resort and DVC policies (housekeeping, towels, ice machine locations, pools, etc.) are not normally handled by Member Services, for that sort of info contact the member you've rented from or feel free to ask here on the DVC board.

Thanks to all who responded. Your information was just what I was looking for. We are going to WDW in May so I will be sure to add on the dining plan. Thanks again for the help. DVC owners are great and I love this website! I cannot wait until my chance to buy- I thought I wanted BW but now I think SSR is great so I'll have to try them both and decide!
