Does anyone here like Tony's Town Square Restaurant?

I don't hear that many positive things about this restaurant so I want to see how many people here love it. I've eaten there before and I got a steak that wasn't too good but maybe I just got the wrong thing. We are eating there again because we needed some place to eat in Magic Kingdom. For those of you who like it, what is the best thing there? If not, what TS restaurant in MK do you recommend instead?

Remember to take everything you read on here with a grain of salt. For every restaurant that someone claims is the worst place they have ever been someone else will tell you that is where they had their best meal ever. It is a matter of taste and so many other variables.

Tony's wasn't perfect when we were there but it was very good when we ate there in December. The chicken parm was delicious. The pasta was overcooked - I prefer mine al dente and will make sure I ask for that next time. But the chicken was more than enough for a meal.

The seafood diavolo, grilled pork tenderloin and shrimp scampi were all very good according to my family. :)

We will go back again. It was the perfect place for us to eat before Spectomagic and then walk out onto the porch to watch the parade.

There are some pictures in my blog (link in my signature) if you want to see some of the dishes we had. Once you are there it is under restaurant reviews on the right side of the page.

Hope this helps some. :)

We did not like Tony's and we've tried it two times. Maybe I'm spoiled with home cooked italian food and Little Italy not too far from where I live. IMHO of course!

When we need a TS in MK, we opt for Crystal Palace. It is buffet, but we really enjoy the food.

For Italian, Tony's is basic. I would just call it so-so. There aren't very many TS options in the MK. If you want something really good, try one of the Resort Restaurants (The Wave, Ohana, Cali Grill, anything at the GF) along the monorail.

We enjoyed our meal at Tony's last March, my DH loved his lasagna and I really enjoyed my pasta dish. Our girls did like the spaghetti, but what kid doesn't :goodvibes. I am actually considering making an ADR for our trip this coming March for one of our MK days.

I love lunch at Tony's. I say this because the last time I checked, their baked ziti was only on the lunch menu and I love the ziti. I've tried a flatbread there before and some spaghetti, but didn't care for either one. I think the atmosphere is great, just like most restaurants at WDW. Apparently somebody likes Tony's or wanted to try it at least because last trip when we were making reservations (granted it was a last minute trip so we booked ADRs 3 weeks in advance), we could not get in.
My personal TS reccomendation is Liberty Tree Tavern. I would eat every meal of my life there. I stuff my face when I go there. It's better than the meal I have on Thanksgiving at home. I love it. I prefer dinner though at LTT because everything is all you can eat so if I run out of the turkey that I love, I can just ask them to bring more.
Anyway, overall I think Tony's is a good choice. Also, a big draw for me to return to Tony's is their tiramisu. It is delicious! I don't reccomend their gelato though.

We've gone once for dinner and the food was good. Not high quality italian but still good. The portions were huge too. The server was nice and friendly. The place was also decorated well. We plan to go back in April for dinner.

Oh & at MK I highly recommend Liberty Tree Tavern but we've only ate there for lunch, not dinner.

Went there last trip and had bad service, over cooked food, and even with a reservation waited about 40 min past our reservation time.

They skipped over our name and finally sat us after I went up and reminded them we were sitting here. Dinner rolls came out after our entrees and we saw our server twice the entire meal. Happy Anniversary to us.

On the other hand, I was taken to Liberty Tree Tavern kicking and screaming for lunch, had the best meal will go back for dinner. I had the turkey meal and my DW had the roast beef club?
Awesome meal, I would highly recommend Liberty Tree Tavern to everyone.

Hope you have a great meal no matter where you decide to go.

We ate there in Nov./ Dec My Dh had the chicken parm and said it was ok. I have the mushroom ravioli and they were really good. Like another post said take everything with a grain of salt. It was decent not horrible

When they served breakfast it was awesome, but the stopped that. It used to be a first MK day tradition for my family. THey stopped after 9/11 though.

We had a decent lunch there a few years back and they were great accomodating food allergies and stuff in my family.

I'd say give it a try if its something you think you'd like.

I was pleasantly surprised by Tony's on my last trip. I had the house salad, chicken parmesan, and pistachio creme brulee and everything was very tasty. The service was awesome too!! I also enjoy The Plaza, Liberty Tree Tavern (especially at lunch), and Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom.

We ate at Tony's in October, and it was horrible. It was so bad that I doubt we'll ever give it another try.

Like PPs, I recommend Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. Everything from appetizers (Tavern Fried Cheese) to dessert (Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake) was soooo yummy! I usually hate turkey and stuffing, but theirs was wonderful. I would also like to go back for dinner. We also really like Crystal Palace for breakfast, too.

We went there on a whime last January and enjoyed the food, the seating and the location. Is it the best? Everyone's different.

We are booked to go there again in April for a late lunch right before the parade. We are also going to CP, which is buffet food. At least with Tony's the food is a little fresher.

The seating was comfortable and relaxing. At a character dining, there is SO much going on - characters and people getting up and down getting through the buffet.

We went in Dec and really enjoyed it. Loved the atmosphere (Dh's fave Disney movie is Lady and the Tramp) and we had great service. The food was good, had better/had worse. I had the Shrimp Scampi and DH had the Chicken Parm which he said was okay but will go with the Scampi next time.

Thanks everyone! I'm willing to give it another try, but now I'm tempted to try LTT! I've never eaten at Crystal Palace before either but that will be closed at the time that I'm going.

We like it, never had bad service, food was good. In fact we had 11 at Tony's 2 years ago, most 7 of the 11 were very picky eaters and they slightly adjusted the menu to accomodate them...

It is worth a try...

I did not have a good experience. We got seated outside, and it was SO hot, we were all in a terrible mood, we needed air! And there were flies EVERYWHERE. I couldn't eat because they were all over my food which wasn't that good. Maybe if we were seated indoors we would've had a better experience :confused3

Thanks everyone! I'm willing to give it another try, but now I'm tempted to try LTT! I've never eaten at Crystal Palace before either but that will be closed at the time that I'm going.
We're booked for LTT dinner for our next trip! I absolutely love it! I think it's great, and the food is really good (: The mac and cheese is delicious.

DH loves the chicken parm at Tony's, he talks about it all the time :lmao:
