good luck on your purse..where did you find the directions?

I love to knit and scrapbook! Right now I have a sweater to finish - love the Lions Brand yarn- the color is called the Sunshine state. Last year, I knitted 24 scarves for family and friends - this year, it is for me!! Knitting is a real tension reliever for me - have been knitting projects for 28 years now.

Being a leftie, I sat opposite an instructor and learned to knit that way. Took a little longer to learn, and I still am, but when you look at what you can produce, it is a wonderful feeling! :sunny:

I just started knitting about 1 and a half years ago. I made some things, but not many.

I don't, but my MIL does and she's FANTASTIC!!! She's knitted my daughter clothes, blankets and the most beautiful of all-her Christening Gown. It's GORGEOUS! She's SO talented. :goodvibes

My family has always been big into knitting. An aunt taught me when I was 7 (a LOT of years ago).

Last year's new project was a felted flamingo. A first try at felting, it actually came out very good!

Current project is a 48" square baby blanket on size 3 needles, 183 stitches to the row. The pattern isn't difficult so it's good for doing while watching TV.

Next quickie project is a knitted drawstring tote bag for my niece. Worsted weight yarn and size 11 needles, it should go fast. After that DH wants me to convert one of the pullover sweaters I made him into a cardigan.

One of these days, when bored with knitting, I have to finish the counted cross stitch picture I started at least three years ago. Everything is done except for the backstitching. - just can't get into it.

Have fun with your projects. A neighbor of mine started knitting about 1 1/2 years ago. She just won a blue ribbon at the Fryeburg Fair for her cabled cardigan sweater!

I knit and crochet :thumbsup2 I only do it in the winter when there is nothing to do outside :guilty:

I knit like crazy and I crochet too but not as much as I knit. At work I'm working on the irish hiking scarf and at home I'm alternating between the mariah cardigan (just have the hood left) and the central park hoodie (finished the back, fronts and I'm working on the sleeves). I love knitting!

I love to knit when the weather turns cool, but mostly I am a fanatic needlepointer!!!

I knit.

I made DH a sweater and entered it in the county fair in July and won a first place ribbon.

Since then I have made a baby sweater for another DISser who is due in less than a month. And my neice is pregnant now too. I have finished a newborn sweater for her and just started on an 18 month old size. Baby things work up so quickly.

I feel like knitting was becoming a lost art. My mother taught me. It seems to be coming back though.

Haven't knitted in years but I've taken up crocheting again. Made some lap robes for people who live in senior care & veteran facilities.

I do some loom knitting, but never got into knitting the conventional way. I love to crochet, though. I can't just sit and watch TV without getting bored, so I'll usually try to work on something else at the same time. I've done several afghans, some hats, and I couldn't even begin to guess how many scarves. It's ridiculous. I even ran out of people to give them to, so I've been donating some to charity auctions and the like.

I knit and I crochet. I have taught my older dd's how, too, and I plan to teach my 3yo ds eventually. I have heard about men knitting, too, (even a college aged student having his own website with patterns) which I think is cool.

I learned to knit from my DD13  She and her friends are crazy about knitting and spend hours pulling it out and knitting it up. I enjoyed the peaceful feeling, but I have such bad arthritis in my thumbs that it's very painful. So I gave my DD my needles and yarn and she and the friends can knock themselves out.

I'm a knitting junky!! Busy hands.....lol

Right now, I'm knitting wire baskets for my kitchen (for fruit and veggies etc).....my fingers are killing me.

I love knitting, and am obsessed with felting, currently! Working on Christmas scuffs for everyone. Want to do linen shopping bags, too, if I have time!

I have been looking for a knitting store to learn how to knit. It's one thing I've always wanted to do. I crochet, needlepoint and do cross stitch.

I got a kit and taught myself to knit about 1.5 years ago, and I'm hooked (pun intended)! So far, I've made a few scarves, sweaters for DH and myself, pillows (chunky yarn - my first projects to use cables). Right now, I'm making another sweater for DH, have yarn ready to go for another sweater for me, and I'm going to attempt my first-ever project on double-pointed needles - socks for DS. He likes to wear thick, wooly socks to sleep in during the winter, so I figure it's a good project to learn to use double-point needles since size won't be so critical. I just wish I had more time!!

A LOT of the larger chain craft stores (Michael's, JoAnn, The Fabric Place) also have knitting lessons. I started in our town's Adult Education classes at night, and then left that, and have been taking classes at local yarn store.

I've been knitting for nearly 2 years now, have done baby sweaters, socks, felted bags and mittens. I'm nearly done with a super cool baby blanket for a co-worker, and my next project is going to be a cable scarf. I'm working up to a cable sweater someday....
