I would love to hear from those of you that have it and how you deal with it. I have been miserable with it especially in the last two months. I have had it off and on all my life but it really seems to be getting bad lately. This is why I am up tonight. Ive only managed about a hours sleep and my legs start up again. Ive tried Ativan which was suggested for it, heat, a warm shower before bed, having my dh rub my feet before bed. Nothing I do seems to work. I would love to hear other suggestions on what works for you that I might try. TIA!

I feel for you! DH has it from time to time and none of the drugs his doctor prescribed worked either. He mostly walks the floors and just becomes agitated which makes me irritable after a while. Oh, I'm really helping you here! :rotfl: Sorry! I really don't know what helps. Do a "search" on the board. There was a rather long thread about this not too long ago. Hopefully you'll find just what you need there. :teeth:

I have it, but nothing really helps, except for standing up and walking around.

Here is a longer thread from a while ago that might have something, Click Here

Thanks for the link to the other post. They mentioned meds which were mentioned to me by my kids neurologist. She was very adamant I see someone about it as I cant even stay still during the day. My legs are always moving. Drives everyone I work with and anyone I sit with nuts. Rarely will you ever see me sit or stand still. Im always moving. She noticed it when she was trying to talk to me about the kids and their ADHD which I also have. She wondered if one of my sons didnt suffer from RLS because I have it so badly and suggested that I seek treatment for it immediately. I was trying not to go the med route and was hoping someone had a magical home remedy that they could share but I guess after no sleep at all last night I should call my doctor and see what he thinks. I cant work and not sleep or I will fall down LOL.

My mother has it. It was to the point where she wasn't getting any sleep during the evening, she had to walk the house to stop the pain.
She got intervenous iron treatments for 10 days in a row and the pain has stopped for almost 2 weeks. She's sleeping better than she has slept in months!

Before she got the iron treatments, she tried putting the bar of soap between the sheets, pain meds, you name it she tried it. She went to a specialist because she was up crying most nights. She's like a new woman!

I do not have it but really, go see someone. I have read several recent articles about RLS and it seems that this is a new medication out now that is VERY helpful. I'm sure if you go to a specialist for this you can get it. I just wish I could remember the name of it. But since I don't have it, I didn't make a special note of it. Good luck.

Chiropractic care is supposed to be very effective for the treatment of RLS.

I get it when I'm pregnant, and taking additional Potassium helps it go away. I've heard other people say that taking supplements for things that end in -ium (Calcium and Magnesium) has helped them.
