I read they are taking ressies for Feb 14th and beyond.

If you're going soon, can you please tell us about your stay there?

It would be most appreciated.

Thanks :D

We bought at Tuscany last August and the Site was under major construction (obviously) and we were wondering whether to book for this August. We are reluctant to do so this year as we are sure it will just be one big building site (dusty, noisy etc). Not sure what will be up and running and what facilities will be ready either.

Looking forward to the replies as we may change our mind if things are moving in a positive way.

I would expect Hilton - to be like Marriott and Disney - they may have construct going on - but believe me unless you made an afford to go find it - you won't!

spiceycat - you're right. I was forewarned last April about MGV's construction and refurbishing going on. Never heard a thing and the place was immaculate. I think these names are very reputable and their appearance is everything.

We're also interested in reviews of this new resort. Wondering how complete the recreational facilities are at this stage since they plan to continue construction for many years to come. It would be greatly appreciated if folks who visit in coming months could take photos and make them available for viewing online. I've seen the promo video on www.hgvc.com's site but those are just computer generated photos of the completed resort so nowhere near reality as far as I'm concerned at this point of the development.

I've just made a reservation at Tuscany but won't be staying til August, so problaby not as soon as most of you are hoping for. We debated for a while whether to book or not because of construction work but took the bull by the horns and did it anyway. I know Phase I is finished whatever that means. When I booked yesterday 2 bedroom units were very limited.

When we bought last August they were hoping to have build at least 2 accommodation buildings, swimmingpool, club house, parking, lake and recreational areas. Accommodation blocks will be built according to sales.

Also hoping for some feedback soon.

Since we're not planning to visit until 2005, we can certainly wait for your review! :)

Will let you know once we're back - but I'm sure others will have tried it before us.

Stayed in a 1-br unit for 5 days beginning Feb 14. Resort was fantastic! Only 1 building was open. A second should be opening up in April I think. A third was under construction. I believe there are to be 7 buildings total. Didn't hear any construction noise during the stay.
All of the recreational facilities are open (except for an additional pool to be built at the end of the lake where more buildings are to be located). The main pool is great, w/ waterfalls, etc. (No slide). 2 hot spas. There is a quiet reading room, and a billiards room with 2 pool tables and a large screen tv.
I'm and HGVC owner (but not at this resort), and have already booked 2 more stays here for November and December.

Thanks for the review, dvc_john! We're HGVC owners as well (and we live in the same state :) ). Did you happen to take any photos that you could share? Is there a children's pool (or plans for one)? Do the units have big screen TVs in the living room? (I ask because DH was impressed with HGVC Sea World units' big screen TVs.) How far was the drive to WDW?

for reporting back - we are also HGVC owners. We traded-in our Seaworld points and bought at Tuscany last August. We were in two minds whether to book for August but since reading your review I'm glad we did.

Just a couple of quick questions. What view did you have in your unit and what would you suggest we request ?

Because we aren't staying til August, are the other two building in good or better positions ?

Do you have any building/unit/floor preferences for your November and December trips ?

Thanks again

For view, everything faces either the lake or the pool area.
The 1st building mostly faces the pool with the lake behind it. This building is closet to the pool and club house. The other buildings will have a lake view. (The lake has a fountain in it).
I had the 2nd floor, which was fine, although I prefer higher up. The balconiies on all floors except the 3nd have floor to ceiling screens. The 3nd floor had a low wall topped with screen.
There is a childrens playground. I'm not sure, but I think there was a childrens pool or wet play area as well.
As for TV', it was wasn't the big screen rear projection thing, but i was a large size tube TV.
Didn't take any pictures. The units are pretty much the same layout as the SeaWorld property. The decor is really nice!
