Does anyone have GeoTrax?

I want to get GeoTrax for my boys this Christmas. I think they're more suitable for our family than Thomas or Brio because they're safe for kids under 3, and my boys are both very oral. Anyway, I want to know if the trains will each go on all the tracks, or do the different colors for different components indicate what's compatible with what? This is the first toy I've purchased with many different components you have to put together, and I'm not sure I'm up to the task. I only had a sister growing up, so I know nothing about trains and all these boy toys. I'm having fun learning, but it's going to be a while before I'm good at it.

We got the set for our son last year and it is a hit with both kids - 3 & 4 now 1 girl and 1 boy. All of the sets are interchangeable as far as once you buy 1 set all the other pieces will connect to them. Each engine comes with it's own control and each engine and controller both need batteries so make sure to invest in a battery charger and rechargeable batteries - the only downside to the set. I would buy the starter set and go from there. We now have about 80% of what they have out there and all the pieces are pretty neat. Not a major concern with oral/young children - I can't think of any pieces that they could possibly choke on off the top of my head. We have both the wooden Thomas set and the Geotrax set and the geotrax by far has been a better set for the kids.

DS also has GeoTrax (along with Brio stuff) and he probably plays with the two sets equally. GeoTrax is compatible with all the various sets and it's great for preschool aged kids to assemble (and disassemble ). DS loves his.

Geotrax are very durable and easy for a younger child to assemble. My four year old makes googoo eyes at the Thomas stuff but I know it wouln't lat 5 minutes in my house.

DD has LOVED her geotrax since she was three months! haha DH has more fun i SWEAR! he sets it up in a huge circle (we have almost everything they have out DH is obsessed!!) and he puts her in the middle and she is just AMAZED! i will have to put pics up if i can find some! We really like these!
