My sweetie was pulled onstage by a magician on our last cruise. James is a giant mass of muscles, who looks menacing, but has a heart of gold. When he indicated that he was a police officer, he got lots of heat from the magician, who promptly let him know that he had gotten unwarranted tickets, etc. (James was in trouble up there) Everyone was cracking up, because this "vengeful" magician made James hold 3 balloons, 2 in each hand and one between his legs. James ran off the stage when the guy came out with this HUGE whip (because of the balloon between the legs if you can imagine) James was forced by the crowd to come back. The guy blind-folded him, and was he scared. He then had everyone be very quiet, and had the cruise director sneak up on his hands and knees behind James with a pin. When the magician would crack the whip, the CD would pop a balloon(scared the stuffing out of James.) On the last balloon he jumped so bad that the cruise director began laughing so hard that he rolled over and ROLLED OFF OF THE SIDE STEPS! After he jumped up and let everyone know that he was ok, the crowd cracked up laughing at the Cruise Director!! The joke turned out to be on him:) :D James was famous everywhere we went for the rest of the cruise, not to mention finding out there was about 10 other police officers from all over the country on that cruise with us. Does anyone else have any funny stories?

That's hilarious! Mine is not too funny as it is embarrassing because it was ME who got pulled on stage. We had barely stepped foot into the bar (can't remember which one) for seventies night and the CM pulled me in and started putting feather boas on me and telling me what to do. The whole time I was trying to say no but that wasn't going to work. So they drag me up in front of everybody and all I could think of was diverting the attention from me to someone else so I made them drag my friend up there with me. We were the only ones that got to do a "duet" We had to lip sync "I Will Survive" (Gloria Gaynor) and dance around. I have never been more embarrassed in my life. I'm just not the kind of person that likes all that attention on me plus we had just gone to the room and I had thrown my hair up and thought I looked awful (sorry that's a woman thing) I wish now that I would have just gone with the flow and had fun. BUT - since then I have prepared myself for the future by learing every word of that song just in case.........

DW and I, and also a friend of ours (kamgen) all got pulled on stage for the "Go-Go's vs. Bon Jovi" during the 'Back to the 80's' deck party. DW was the keyboard player, while our friend was the lead singer! They were hilarious!!

I was a guitarist and singer for Bon Jovi. We all looked ridiculous!!
Our friend's DH videotaped the whole thing and we still watch it and crack up to this day!

That same friend (my buddy tarzanman!) was on stage with "The Village People" during 70's night! I managed to videotape him as well. He's such a stud! LOL

And for one final act of shameless exhibitionism...

Cruise staff member Robin was calling Bingo. He made the rule that anyone calling a Bingo MUST stand up and dance for their prize, or no money would be awarded. When I was lucky enough to score a bingo on a jackpot of over $400, I immediately jumped up and danced around like a complete fool. Robin officially dubbed my dance as the "Beano Bingo Bongo"!!

All 'performances' were hilarious fun, and something we will all remember for quite some time!

What a great cruise...

Is it any wonder we're going on TWO cruises this year, both with kamgen and tarzanman again????

Well, we were on the Magic last week and we had been wanting to get on "Match Your Mate" for several cruises now.

For the 3 competing couples, they always pick a newlywed/honeymooning couple, a couple who's been married the longest, and then the "middle" couple. In past cruises, the middle couple was just selected by the emcee from those couples married between 5-20 some years. But this time, instead of just picking from this group, he asked those couples to do the craziest, wildest thing they could think of and the audience would pick from their applause.

Well, my DH and I just started kissing PASSIONATELY, DH dipping me low, and we even lost our balance (but never the kiss) and actually fell on to the floor, all the while still kissing and the audience went crazy.

Well, we thought we had it made cause the emcee was facing us and exclaiming the audience's response.

When ALL OF A SUDDEN, this "other couple" just took it upon themselves to just walk up on stage and sat down in the "middle" seat!!! The look on the emcee's face when he turned around and saw them and the audience's response was one of disdain.

However, he apologized to US, and kept the couple that had already sat down! They were UNBELIEVABLY bold. I guess that's what they thought was "crazy and wild".

We left shortly thereafter, as we were very upset and disappointed. I heard later from some fellow DISers that this couple was not well received by the audience nor the emcee throughout the game. This couple also sat at the table next to us for every dinner and I don't think I should share what we called them amongst ourselves for the rest of the cruise. (They didn't win, by the way, the older couple did, thankfully).

On our last cruise, my DH was the ventriloquist's "dummy" and that was hilarious!

Well, My DH and I had several funny experiences on last summer's cruise.

I came in second on the Belly Flop Contest.....my husband danced as one of the bare chested Village People.....he also ran up wearing a woman's bra and shoes at the Adult Scavenger Hunt....he also participated in the Pool Scavenger Hunt

My ultimate goal this cruise will be to sing in the Gloria Gaynor contest. I really like that song and I think I could win....Hey Rae....how about a duet???!!!!:smooth:

I was picked for a contest where the women had to lip-sinc "RESPECT" and the men had to immitate Elvis. The microphone was a bananna! I was singing so loud that everyone heard me, because Aretha Franklin is one of my favorite singers. I won the contest and got a "golden ship-on-a-stick" as the first place winner:o I never knew I was singing that loud. People called me "Aretha" for the rest of the cruise. Between James and I, we had a very memorable cruise. This was on CCL.

We travelled on the May 17/03 Eastern. I was lucky enough to be chosen by the Jugglers ( the Hill Bros) to be their victim for the night. In front of 900 in the audience they attempted to toss at high speed several bowling pins while I stood with a cigarette in my mouth between them. The object of this exercise was to knock the cigarette out of my mouth. They assured me that they do this show 150 time a year with no fatalities. Little did I know that in addition to being fantastic jugglers, they are also very funny. After about 10 minutes and many laughs they accomplished their feat. I could feel the air from the pins as they flew past my nose.
This performance on the second night of the cruise became my 15 minutes of fame for the rest of the vacation. People continually came up to me say things like "hey, good job cigarette man" or "aren't you the guy with the jugglers".
The entertainment that night and throughout the cruise was a highlight of our vacation!

Dave,
Do you mean to tell me that they were using real pins? Supposed you had moved! The thought scares me. What if the ship had rocked at that moment. Whew!:D

Hi Dave and Kim
Yes we saw those pins whizzing by as you held your composure so well!!! Were you truly just chosen out of the audience? We also sat behind you at the Kids' Talent Show. I am a music teacher and my DH was also VERY impressed with your daughter's solo. Did your sons participate too, at the piano? It thrills me to see the "new talent" coming up!! Bravo to you all!

The pins looked real and seemed to have some weight to them however when they were banged together they sounded quite plastic. I don't think my head would have known the difference.

I was chosen as I walked into the theatre. One of the Hill Bros was there and wanted to make sure his victim would be compliant. I was not entirely sure what the stunt was all about.
The talent show was alot of fun. Jeff and Chris from Dueling Pianos produced the show and did a great job. Jaclyn (my DD) enjoyed her solo expecially because they shut down Common Grounds to enable her friends and counsellors to come. My sons both play piano but did not participate at the talent show. Maybe next cruise???. Thanks for your kind word.

PS My wife recognized you and your husband who sat behind us from your pictures from the Cruise Report.

On my honeymoon three years ago aboard the Magic, I was selected to be one of the Village People. After we did our song and dance in front of a bar full of people, they announced for our wives to join us for a slow dance. My wife was almost in tears she was laughing so hard. As we began to slow dance, she informed me thaat my fly was open during the whole performance. You can imagine the view as I signed YMCA. I had used the bathroom right before we went on stage, and was rushed..........honest.
