It's time to get new dishes and are considering going with Fiestaware because we can just replace plates as they break...also I kind of like the idea of mixing colours and picking out exactly what bowl and plate size. Anyways, do any of you guys have it or had it in the past? Give me the good and bad of this stuff :)

I love our Fiestaware. We have the orange and yellow sets and I have the red teapot (which I use as a vase). The only down side is they're super heavy. Other than that - they're great. I love having a colorful kitchen!

I have Fiestaware. I bought a bunch of incomplete sets at a big discount a few years ago and mix up the colors. I am very informal and it fits our household perfectly. Plus, if I break something I don't panic :).

We have it at our house. I think we have 10-15 colors of plates and a couple of various other things. My mom loves it and buys it and chance she gets.

I just love my Fiestaware. Right now I have a mix of 7 different colors. I know this sounds silly but it makes me smile to open the cupboard and see all the pretty colors. It is great to buy just the pieces you need, if something breaks you can replace it etc.

I have some Fiestaware plates and bowls. I love them because they are so much more durable than the other dishes I have. Seems like the others get chipped and crack so easily but I haven't had a single plate or bowl chip or crack with the Fiestaware :thumbsup2

Love mine!!!

I have a cranberry color, green, black & white. Love em!

Had mine for several years without a chip. We have 11 different colors (started with 8 and added those we love when they come out.) I love the mix of colors on the table.

I agree, no chips here either. I've never broken a piece and we're not exactly gentle around here. My darker colors do show marks from knife cuts but it's not horrible. I've found some really pretty pansy print plates in an antique store that match my green, purple(eggplant) and yellow so I have some fun with those too. Then there are the serving dishes of colors that match my Franciscanware Red Apple. So many possibilities with solid colors and lots of them.

Yay! Thanks everyone...I'm pretty excited about getting rid of my cheapo set. Originally we had a pfalzgraff set that lasted us almost 10 years, then replaced it with our current set around 2 years ago and we are down to 2 small plates and only 7 dinner plates....I'd like to get something that will last a while again. I just haven't seen anyone say anything negative about this stuff, so I'm going to get the fiestawear. I'm thinking of getting the cobalt, turquoise, and white for now.

I have my grandmothers set in addtion to my own. Lets just say I'll never bne lacking for dinner wear. Also they have flatwear to match the colors.

Sorry but I do not like my Fiestaware. It is white and although there are no chips or breaks each and every dish has marks on it from just regular use of knives and forks. I would never buy Fiestaware again but that is just me.

Good luck on your decision!

I just expect that :) My pfalztgraff chipped like crazy and the stuff we have now just randomly breaks in half and chips like crazy. It's supposed to be dishwasher safe, but I'll grab a plate to put back and get half a plate :rotfl: I can handle knife marks.

I have pfaltzgraff and my DD has Fiestaware. I wish I had bought Fiestaware.

I love hers. There are a few marks from wear and tear, but no chips with daily use.

how on earth did you keep your fiesta-wear from chipping?? I had a set and loved them but they all ended up chipping I finally gave up an bought denby no chips so far I love my denby but I do miss the bright colors.

I have had my Fiestaware for 15 yrs or more and it is very durable. I have 'lost' several bowls but only one dinner plate in all these years. The only problem I have is marks from my flatware. It is high quality stainless but it has left lots of scratches and marks which I have not been able to get off. I tried all the soft cleaners, baking soda and even stove top cleaner but they won't budge. I have a light blue and light green so if you want it, go with darker colors.

I love my Fiestaware too! I have settings in Cobalt and Cinnabar. I think I want to add Shamrock and Sunflower for spring/summer. My pieces do show some marks if you hold it right in the light, but overall they still look great, no chips. I have broken a couple, but you really have to work to do it (one broke by dropping it from pretty high up right onto another one sitting on its side in the dishwasher, and one broke when my husband brought his elbow down on it and knocked it off the bbq and onto a concrete patio...other than that I've dropped them on the floor in kitchen, in the sink, etc and had no problems). I love Fiestaware and all the colors...I just purchased wedding gifts from Macy's for someone who registered for the Fiestaware in only white and I was a little bummed I didn't get to order some bright happy colors. :rotfl:

I don't have fiestaware but I just want to comment on dish size. I bought new dishes a couple of years ago and it seems the trend is oversized plates. All was well and good until I went to put them away in my cabinets and the dinner plates didn't fit. I had to rearrange where everything was stored to accommodate these oversized dishes, not to mention trying to fit them into the dishwasher. So, whatever dishes you buy, if oversized plates are an option keep your cabinet size in mind.

I love my Fiestaware. In the past, I've spent quite a chunk of change on dishes and then had the pattern discontinued. As dishes broke, I had to buy a whole new set of something else. Fiestaware has been around for a long time and I'm hopeful they'll continue making it for a good long time. :thumbsup2 Since I can mix and match, if they discontinue a certain color, it's not big deal to me. Ours has held up very well.
