Does anyone have a recliner with a draw string mechanism?

I'm search for a recliner couch for my new condo, and some of them feature a draw string mechanism to make them recline. I had never seen draw string recliners before--I'm used to seeing them with levers or push buttons. Does anyone have one of the draw string ones? What do you think of the mechanism? Any problems with it? Is it a good sturdy mechanism to run the recliner with?

I don't but I'll get you back up top for a bit!

Thanks, Diane. I guess no one has one (or at least not the people who have seen my post). I'll bump it up one more time.

Anyone?

I have a couch that splits in half and each side is a recliner with this mechanism. I also have a big ol' chair that has it too. I have had no problems with it. My elderly parents find it easier to use mine than their traditonal recliners.

No help here, but I am curious about them too. The recliner loveseat we were looking at the other day has this mechanism. I had never seen that type before. Just from trying it out, I seem to like it better than reaching on the outside of the arm to pull a lever. :thumbsup2

we have a sectional sofa that has a recliner at one end with this type of mechanism. i like that little kids can't walk up and recline you at will :thumbsup2 and that if i want-i can have that end flush against something. on the negative side-if you have older family members it can be kind of hard for them to reach down into the cushions to pull the string.

i puposely bought an 'action' brand-they are the same people who make 'lane' and their products are realy well made. when i worked in the furniture bsns i never saw a bad product-and they stand behind their stuff as well. the warranty's on the mechanisms are very long. in fact when my mom needed a lift type recliner we went with this brand because every place we shopped at echoed their committment to quality and customer service.

Thanks for the info! It's very helpful! I was undecided about whether or not to go with the drawstring time, but this info makes me more confidant about it :)

I'm looking at a nice Lane reclining sofa.

I have a dual reclining loveseat with center console with this type of thing. I don't find it any problem to use, and so far it seems far sturdier than the rest of the piece. I bought my set at JC Penney last year - I believe it was delivered around October.

ETA: When I try to close the foot portion, I really have to SLAM it closed with my legs. I can't just simply put it down. Could be a defect in my loveseat thoug, but thought it might be worthwhile to mention.

We have a Lane sectional with that kind of mechanism. We've had no problems with it so far (although it's only been about a year).
