Does anyone have a Chevy HHR? Opinions??

I rented one and hated it as well. I rent cars at least once a month and it's the only car I have ever rented that I will refuse if they give it to me again. Same reasons as a lot of other posters (small windows, etc)

It was dark grey and looked like a hearse for short people! :lmao:

One of my contractors has the HHR and it is a money pit. It is an 07 and he has put nearly $5,000 into it with various repairs. Now the exhaust system is gone and he has a side mirror duct taped to the vehicle.

I'd walk first.

My brother in law has one for work, he hates it. Just like everyone else says, has issues with the blind spots.

You all make me laugh with the hearse comments. When my hubby was in high school, his buddy bought a hearse. It was known as the party vehicle.

Ah, the HHeaRse.

We started to rent one but didn't even get out of the lot before we changed to something else. Really bad blind spots are the most egregious fault of the design, but it is (for want of a better word) a space-waster, as well.

It's a relatively large vehicle on the ground, but the interior room is WAY more cramped than it should be by comparison to the outside dimensions. 13 cf is a SMALL cargo area in a utility vehicle -- by contrast, a Toyota Camry's trunk is 16 cf. The shoulder room is very tight, too.

To judge the dimensions, try going out to this site and putting in the model of car you already own and also the ones you are looking at. It will tell you if the dimensions are larger or smaller, and where.

My dad and I were going to the Chicago area with my aunt an uncle a couple years ago. They got one of these as a rental. Before we even left town, they had to go to another location of the rental company to get a different car. The seats were Hard. My aunt, who has MS and a bad back, couldn't ride very long in it. Also, as stated, the windows were also very small.

Love, love, love my HHR! I've had it for a year and a half, with no problems at all. It is the perfect size, not too big, not too small. And the windows are fine, I don't have any problems seeing everything. :confused3 We drove it to WDW last summer, and it was great, very comfortable, good gas mileage. I would highly recommend them.

On the other hand, the cup holders suck! That's the only thing about the whole car I have a problem with.
