Does anyone hate the Superbowl?

You mean this??

I think it's pretty awesome myself.

That reminds me of an episode of the show "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters" called "The Great Wave". They had an annual surfing competition that takes place during half time of the Super Bowl when everyone flushes at once :lmao:.

I don't hate it, it would have to have an effect on me in order for me to have any kind of feeling towards it at all. I just don't care about it... :confused3

Unless the Cowboys are in it, I usually just tune it in and fall asleep. It is also a good time to take the wife out for a dinner and movie since it is usually not crowded.

The Superbowl is WONDERFUL! It's the END of football for several months and pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training weeks after it's over. It heralds two VERY happy events in my year!

I don't hate it, but I don't care about it AT ALL unless one of my teams is in it. I won't watch it just for the heck of it, and I'm not one of those people that will just pick someone else to root for once my teams are out.

Well, I love it. I love the games leading up to it, I love the commercials, and I feel mournful at the end because we won't have football until August. :sad1:

Just please, if you dislike it and are invited to a Superbowl party and you go, please shut up so we can watch the game and commercials.

Thanks!

And I don't even have a horse in this race, but I am hoping the Saints win.

I am probably going to cruise the disboards and work on my turbo tax.

I don't love or hate watching football. Just usually not my deal. My DH watches it some.

However I love any reason for a party so the last few years our neighbors (who feel the same about football) have come over for it. We plan good food and drink and go back and forth between the super bowl and the puppy bowl. I have to say we pay more attention to the puppies!

There is also way too much chatting going on for any hard core footballs fans.

I don't really care about the super bowl one way or the other. I just look at it as an opportunity to get together with family and eat lots of yummy stuff!

Not sports fans here either so we ignore all the hype. If others want to get goofy over some game, so be it. Too bad the game is during the evening on a Sunday so some malls will be closed already. But there's always the internet...

I could not care less about the NFL but it is an occasion to get together with friends which is nice. I will most likely not pay much attention to the game.

I know nothing about the Super Bowl. I have never watched a Super Bowl. I don't even know, or care, who is playing. I don't hate it; I just have zero interest.

Man - you people would have a hard time in my house. The Super Bowl is just one spectacle in a year of spectacles. You learn to love it.

Maddle

I can take it or leave it, mostly leave it, but I do like the commercials.

Same here. Maybe 15-16 years ago, I had to go to work on that Sunday. My brother was shocked--he said, "Isn't Super Bowl Sunday a holiday?!"

I haven't cared who won an iota other than 2000 and 2002 ( and :headache:, respectively), but it's still something I'll probably always watch.

We LOVE football in our house so Super Bowl is big! And, since the NY Jets are out - good luck to the Saints - that's who we'll be rooting for!
