Does anyone HATE drops on rollercoasters, but...

Yep. I could ride the Tower or Terror over and over but I skip most coasters. Am trying Everest next month though!

i love roller coasters! the thing that i hate is the vertical drop. Ive never been on ToT but i WILL this time. i gotta work myself up to it. Ive been on other free fall rides at six flags (not as tall as ToT) and i left my stomach at the top of those rides. lol. but how can i not try ToT at least once. thats my major goal for my next trip! :goodvibes

I've done (and will never do again) the 6 flags freefall thing--the two kids I went on it with got a kick out of my wailing--but I LOVE ToT...can't even compare the two--free fall was terrifying to me, but ToT I really enjoyed...can't wait to give it another go next trip :thumbsup2

yea i think the ToT one will be different as you are in a room rather than just strapped to a pole. lol

hey it looks like were NH neighbors! Im about 20 minutes from Manchester in Amherst. Good to see another from NH on here!

The reason I'm asking is because I HATE big drops.

I LOVE rollercoasters without big drops, like Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, and others. But those big, straight drops, even the one on Splash Mountain, scares the holy cannoli out of me! :scared1:

I've ridden Splash before, and I would again if I HAD too, but I don't like it at all! I don't have a problem trying out Expedition Everest because that slight curve in the drop is just enough to make it look fun for me rather than scary.

I wouldn't ride a drop tower in a million years!

But, I just really want to give the Tower of Terror a try. It just looks so great from the outside that now I want to see the inside. (I've only seen the one at DCA though).

DH and I will be going to WDW for the first time in January, and he said he would ride it with me. So, now that I have somebody to go on it with me, all I have to do is talk myself into it. They wouldn't happen to sell a good strong margarita anywhere at MGM would they? Tequila = TeTower? :teeth:

Anyway, that's why I need feedback from all you great folks here on the DisBoards. :thumbsup2

I say JUST DO IT, Mickey wouldn't hurt you! LOL
I love rollercoasters, and drops.

You sound exactly like me. Rockin Rollercoaster is my all time favorite ride, and I love Everest. I finally rode Splash for the 1st time in July, at 36 years old. That drop scares the heck out of me. I have ridden it a couple more times, but I don't enjoy the drop.

Now, this October, I rode ToT for the first time. I was HORRIFIED!!!!!! I was shaking so bad when it was over. I then rode it 3 more times. I must say it scares the heck out of me, but it's a very cool ride. Do I like it? No, but I will probably continue to ride it.

NO! I like Big Thunder, hate Space Mountain, love Everest, and thought I might die on ToT. I rode Tower with my eyes closed and it's pitch black in there. I wish they had over the head restraints instead of seat belts. My bag was bouncing all over the place!

Honestly? I tried ToT for the first time last week and was TERRIFIED. I mean TERRIFIED. We were dropped 5 or 6 times and I spent the entire drop sequence doubled over in sheer terror, literally. I don't scare easily and think every other ride in WDW is amazing and fun. RnR was exhilarating, but ToT...ack! I did really like the theming of ToT, but will not do it again! :guilty:

I am exactly the opposite- I love roller coasters with huge fast drops at Disney and elsewhere, but I hate TOT. That thing kills me. :confused3

Nope, I am a HUGE thrill seeker so I love the big drops and I love fast fast rollercoasters! lol.

Splash Mountain is a top favorite for me because, well, just the entire attraction makes me think of WDW and we aren't really at WDW until we ride Splash Mountain lol. I get "good" nervous when we are about to drop as the anticipation is everything!! Same holds true for the Tower of Terror...anticipation is half the fun! My most favorite ride (not counting it for sentimental reasons) is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster! That launch is just amazing...and then to have the loop right after followed by some other neat surprises...oh how it send shivers up my spine already!! lol.

No love the drops on rollercoasters :thumbsup2

I am not a fan of big roller coasters, although I did ride Everest a few weeks ago and enjoyed it enough to do it again. But I LOVE Tower of Terror. I laugh thru all the drops.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I love it all :Pinkbounc

But DH is the opposite. He likes rollercoaster drops and NOT ToT. Poor man. LOL!

I'm hoping that I have the same reaction to TOT as you. That is "IF" I can muster up the courage to ride it. :thumbsup2

I love rollercoasters and big drops and negative g's and all the sort... I have never been able to get up enough nerve to go on the ToT.. or any drop tower for that matter... I don't know I just don't like the idea of being dropped straight down repeatedly :rotfl: but I think I will have to go on the ToT next trip....
