Does anyone get frustrated like this?

I have been going to Curves and watching what I eat. Now I know that I am losing something because I am down a size, but the scale has not budged!!! Ok, ok I know muscle weight, but it is still frustrating not seeing that scale budge!

Congrats on losing a whole dress size! That is a huge accomplishment and you should be very proud of it.

I find that I'm either losing inches (clothes are getting really baggy now and I'm needing to do some shopping) or the scale shows a modest loss a few weeks in a row. I can't seem to get smaller and have the scale reflect it at the same time.

Don't give up - with Curves workouts you are gaining a significant amount of muscle which weighs more than fat. With that extra muscle, your metabolism will increase and the pounds will start to come off and show on the scale.

This is normal - frustrating, yes - but normal. Keep up your very hard work.

I agree. If your clothes are getting looser, then you're trading in fat and gaining muscle. You are going in the right direction and the scale will eventually show it. Keep up the good habits! I can't wait to knock down a dress size...:wave2:

It's hard not to rest everything on what the scale says but we have to remember (and I'm reminding myself -AGAIN) that it's so much more than that. Inches are great to lose too!

I get frustrated when I know clothes are getting looser yet the scale takes forever to budge:crazy: . Just keep saying "I'm a size SMALLER" ::yes:: and eventual the scale will reflect the change.

some people like myself and apperantly you too and some others lose inches before pounds but hey this is what i say what people don't know wont hurt and if they see you are loseing sizes they don't have to know the pounds.Right I think so.

You need to measure and weigh! You really don't care what you weigh as long as you drop sizes and feel better, right?

I go to www.mybodycomp.com and measure myself every month. They keep your previous profiles online and allow you to compare them. Since March I have lost a whopping 6 pounds, but I also lost 6 inches off my hips and 3 inches off my waist! I even lost a 1/4 inch off my wrist :).

You are doing a great job! Keep it up :).

My workout program was with Shapes (similar to Curves). Although I could see my body shape changing, the scale did not reflect much weight loss.

I put the scale in a back corner of the basement and would only weigh myself monthly! It really got rid of that particular frustration.

I'm with the others. I am disappointed that I've lost less than 6 pounds in ~ 3 months, but I've lost 11 inches as of last night! 6 pounds does not seem like much, but having people at work ask if I've lost weight and saying I'm getting skinny is awesome!

That's what inches do, they make your clothes looser and are what people really notice. Unfortunately, we've been using the scale for so long that we forget what really matters.

If I were you, losing a whole dress size, I'd be doing the happy dance right now. Hey, maybe we should get clippies for dropping sizes?

Until then, here's my happy dance for you! Great job!!
