Does Anyone Feel Embarrassed?

I don't get embarrased, but I do get the usual "AGAIN??? You know there are so many places to visit besides Disney........" :rolleyes1

I just had someone say something to me, not 20 minutes ago. I was talking with my neighbor when her 18yo came out. My neighbor told her that we are leaving for WDW in the morning, and she said "God, aren't you guys sick of that place yet?" As a matter of fact NO WE ARE NOT! In fact, we are going because my DS who just graduated from high school wanted to go as a graduation present. If people don't have anything nice to say, they shouldn't say anything at all.:rolleyes2

Yeah, my friends all think it's lame to go there all the time. But you know what? I could care less because I LOVE it! And that's what I tell them. And then I continue to brag a bit, just because this annoys some people, haha.

I can't wait to see all their reactions when I tell them I plan on working there next year for 7 months! :lmao:

I'm sure the reactions will be priceless.

I'm 19, and my friends are split. My best friend is also a Disney nut like me and wants to tag along all the time. Others kinda just say..."Oh...cool" and I also get "why" and "again?!". I also have a friend that thinks Disney is evil...I have yet to win him over. My grandmother just thinks Florida in general is boring and wants us to go to other places...I love traveling, but I wanted to go to Disney and my mom did too, my dad...he did, but wants to go other places too, but we are going lol...WOOOOOOOOOOOOO:cool1:  !!! Oh well...I love it and probablly always will...when I retire, I'll be the one driving the monorails!!

Don't feel embarassed. I wasn't always as obsessed with Disney as I am now. If fact, my first time at Disney was as a College Program CM the summer before my 21st birthday and I fell in love. I am now a certified Disney "freak". I never experienced it as a kid...only a kid at heart.

I would love to be a cast member or a computer nerd working for disney.

Well, we went 4 times with our kids, in '86, '91, '98 and 2001.

SINCE our son has graduated, DH and myself, early 50's have gone December 2003, July 2004, September 2004, December 2004, November 2005, April 2006, October 2006, are now planning October 2007, spring 2008 and then again Oct or Nov 2008, then an all adult family group wants to go November 2009.

Since I've gone without kids, I've found out that Disney with kids is fun, exciting and filled with special memories. Disney without kids is FANTASTIC!!!

We love it, we do what we want, when we want. We relax, have fun, eat out, did I say relax. No more go go go, unless that's what we want to do.

Several times we've gone to the bus stop and just taken the first bus that comes along and that's where we go. (If we let the first one go by, we know we didn't want to go there!!! LOL) Anyway, go and enjoy yourself, you'll be surprised at all the "childfree" people you see that you probably never noticed before!!!

i don't get embarrassed, but i get 'WHY?' or 'AGAIN?' a lot.

We get that too!!! Most just ask us, "what didn't you see it all last time?" or "why would you spend all that money for that again?" or "wouldn't you rather go someplace else and see something more that Mickey Mouse?"

Our response is "why are you worried about how I spend my money?" or "yes, with Disney, you either get it or you don't and clearly you don't."

I'm a 38 yr old male and I could care less if people thinks it is weird if I go without kids.

I go with friends and next month will be with a child but also first time back on property in 7 years.

September 2008 will be in Euro Disney and just 2 adults going there.

So be proud, your going to Disney, I am.

"Does anyone feel embarassed?" I say... "Hell no!!!" This will be my 15th time there in 30 years! I can't wait!!

Hi There -- No embarassment here either. Our addiction is a litter greater than yours, we have visited every year at least one time, per since opening in 1971, so you have no need to feel embarassed. You can just call it enthusiasm. We are local Disney now, and between scheduling R&R for ourselves, and visiting with family/friends, the number of times we visit per year is even unbelieveable to us, and we never tire of visiting..

May you have many, many, more happy visits.

I'm 21 too and I'm in Tallahassee right now for college but I'm originally from Orlando. So for the last 2 months I've been making my DDad to take me to WDW every weekend! Even for my 21st (June 1st) I opted to go to the 1st SSW. I wouldn't have it any other way! ::yes::

I am getting ready for DW and I to go to WDW in September. We are both in our mid 30s and are looking forward to the trip. Did I mention that we are not taking our kids? That's what really gets everyone. It's ok. They have been several times before. This is just time for DW and I to relax and be a couple.

my best friend and i (both 22) just went to celebrate our college graduations--some people thought we were crazy but we had a blast

Same thing happened to me and my best friend and then fast forward to a few years later. I wanted to get away for a bachelorette weekend and we toyed around with all kinds of islands etc. We had all the travel brochures in our hands and finally we just looked at each other and just said ... DISNEY AGAIN!! We had so much fun -- everyone thought we were nuts but WHO CARES!!

Hello,,,Im 55 (male)and PROUD to say I still LOVE the mouse. and ALL the THRILL rides that go along with him ºOº

My DGF and I hear this all the time. We are both 26 and love going to DW! We went in Dec., march, and are going to Fort Wilderness this august as a celebration for taking the bar exam! Plenty of others like us out there so no worries!

No need to be embarassed at all! My 22 yo DS just asked me to look into planning a trip for him and his 23 yo buddy as they both like it alot down there! They do want to do Universal a couple of days, but know that they'll have at least couple of days at Disney parks. I feel kind of responsible for his buddy's love of Disney as we were the first ones to take him back when they were seniors in high school.

nope.............its our favorite place. and last august just me and my husband went. my mother in law is funny, before we left she said to us one day, Well now the kids are older you can go somewhere else besides Disney..........we laughed. shes funny. its actually my husbands fav. place. we are hoping to go this year, around end of oct. to nov. but my dd and baby grandson just moved down to Alabama, my son in law is in the army. so , we are hoping to all go. but we are not sure. if we miss it this year, we will def. go next year...........with t he baby..........................

Hello,,,Im 55 (male)and PROUD to say I still LOVE the mouse. and ALL the THRILL rides that go along with him ºOº

Hi Disney Kid -- I have a 62 year old hubby that is proud to say he loves the mouse too :goodvibes !!! I guess when we contract "Mouse Fever" , there is no cure, and we remain a "kid" forever (must be something like that Peter Pan thing) :woohoo: . Oh well, regardless of the opinon of "Mouse" nay sayers, hope you continue to enjoy the "Mouse" as much as we do :thumbsup2.

I tell people who ask Orlando. They say Disney World again and my response is "Is there really anywhere else worth a whole week? Sorry to other theme park fans. I do love SeaWorld, never been to Universal. I also tell people hey I don't understand why anyone would want to get up at the crack of dawn and sit in a freezing cold deer stand and wait for Bambi to come by, or how someone (my husband included) can sit in a fishing boat at wait for a fish to want lunch. I say I will spend my vacation time and money my way and you do the same. I don't really care if people love the parks or not. I love them and will continue to go as often as the budget allows no matter how old I am or how old my son is.
