Does anyone ever use the taxis at WDW?

We used them when DS16 had friends at another resort. Went with him the first time and checked out the driver. After that we requested the same driver who was great for all the multiple trips what were made! The Driver loved it since we tipped well!;)

I use the taxis on occasion. especially late at night when leaving Disney Downtown after a late Circus show, etc. Also, the taxi was very handy when going from the French Quarter to baseball spring training games in March. (While there is Disney bus service to and from the games, it is a bit troublesome since busses from the sports complex only run back and forth from the Studios to the complex.)

Enjoy.

How many people can fit in a cab? We will be there with 3 adults and 2 small children (1 & 2 yrs) so I assume they can sit on laps... We would also have a double stroller that does fit in my car's trunk... Would we all be able to fit in a cab. The night we are at MK for Spectro & Wishes will be a late one for the little ones and a cab sounds like a good idea to get back to the Boardwalk ASAP....

I was warned by a friend that you should under NO CIRCUMSTANCES allow a taxi driver to charge you for any tolls or anything... (This is for people who use taxis to or from the airport, and other places outside of Disney property.)

They are not supposed to charge you as they prepay for the tolls.

Yes, there is a prepaid toll system, called SunPass or EPass. You can get a transponder that mounts to the windshield, and you add money to an account. Each time you drive through a toll booth, the charge is deducted from that account. Once the account runs out, you have to re-charge, usually with a credit card that's tied to the account.

So, the taxi companies are still paying the tolls, still paying per trip, the only difference is that they don't have to have cash at the instant they go through the toll booth. I would think that they'd be perfectly within their rights to charge you for the amount of tolls they incur while transporting you.

DW and I use a taxi when we have a special dinner planned and want to arrive for dinner more refreshed . We traveled from Dixie Landings to Grand Floridian for Victoria and Alberts. Great dinner.

We had a late dinner at the Contemporary and watched the last monorail pull out of the station just as we were trying to get back to the Poly. No problem, a 5 minute, $5 cab ride got us right back to our hotel.

A late dinner at the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk left us stranded with our car in the Epcot parking lot and no way to get to it other than a 5 minute, $5 cab ride.

I think I see a pattern emerging! ;)

And yes, definitely establish the price before you get in the cab. :thumbsup2

If you are short on time (need to get to a PS) taxi is the way to go. It is the only direct, non-stop transportation in the Kingdom and the price is worth it when your in a pickle.

I agree with this. We use them for resort to resort travelling when we are in a rush. It beats the heck out of riding a bus to a park and then catching another one to your destination. :thumbsup2

DH and I use them once in a while to go to a different resort for dinner. I don't think we have ever paid more than $13.00. If you really get short on time and you have an ADR, it's the only way to go.

Took a taxi from Epcot to the CR last summer cost $12. Money well spent.
I couldn't face the thought of 2 monorail rides with a sleeping 4 year old! :)

I would also like to know how much it would cost to take a cab from POR to SeaWorld and also to take one to Universal Studios/IOA. :fish: :fish: :fish:

I was wondering this myself, as I will be a 'captive' due to the fact we will be utilizing the Magical Express in December. I am curious to know if it would be a better option to rent a car for a single day. :confused3

We took a Taxi from EPCOT to POFQ, best 10 bucks we ever spent. :thumbsup2 Waited 20 min for a POFQ bus that NEVER came. :confused3 Will have to do that from now on, busses from EPCOT are NOT very reliable. :sad2:

Hi BB girl I tried that http.... and it keeps coming up no match I doube checked I had it right. So please can anyone tell me how much cabs to Seaworld are? Thanks in advance.
