Does anyone ever make snide remarks about your love of DW?

We are going to DW again in a couple of weeks, and tonight *another* friend of mine made sort of a snide comment about it....we were talking about friends who go twice a year and she says "Oh, we may go ONCE in our lives but puhleez - that would be it!". I get this sort of thing from family members too - why does it seem some people look down on those of us who love going?? I don't get it!

Just as you "don't get" them, they "don't get" you.:rotfl: When I get the "You're going again?" comment, I just say "Yep." or "It's where our family wants to go." I don't think twice about it.:thumbsup2

Yeah, you're right - I get the feeling people look down on it, so I guess it irks me a bit when the comments come from friends. I've traveled abroad but in all honesty, at this stage in my life especially, I just want something fun and magical!

Yep, all the time from friends and family.

When they ask "Again?" I just smile and tell them, "Don't worry, I am not asking you to go with me." :lmao:

If they have never been before I will give them the full pitch of things to see and do. If they have been before, then I just let it go. Everyone is different. I would die of boredom lying on a beach.

Yes, we get that too! Last year, we stayed for almost 2 weeks and one of my friends said, "Come on now, that's like Disney overkill!" I said, "whatever" and we had a blast. I am currently planning our trip for this August:banana: My family and I fell in love after our first trip ever in 2010:lovestruc Disney has become a tradition for our family and we will continue to go at least once a year:cool1:

What trips me out the most is the people who say "you are going AGAIN??" are the same people who go to the same beach and stay at the same beach house the same week every year. And they most likely eat at the same restaurnat every time :confused3

At WDW, we stay in different places, try different restaurants, go at different times of the year...no 2 trips are ever the same....Well, at least they dont have to be.

We have been about 7 tmes since we purchased DVC in January 2008. And, every sngle trip is different...we try new things each time and there is still a lot of things we have not seen yet.

People who say "are you going AGAIN???" probably have no idea that there is so much more to WDW than kiddie rides and corndogs:woohoo:

But most people in our circle of friends, know that after 46 trips we've taken, there must be a love and passion about a WDW vacation...

Those that don't get it are either jealous or had a bad experience there (didn't plan or completely know alot about WDW).

We do have some friends that go to the beach, same condo, same do nothing all week (and in my eyes, spend more to look at the ocean) and have done WDW once.....we just say, to each their own but some have asked to come along and experience WDW with us....and were converted....it's iether for you or against you.....we don't try to convert others but when they ask about our vacations, want to see the photos and video....glad to pull it all out and awe them beyond belief...a picture is worth a 1000 words.......really doesn't bother us one way or another but giving false info on Disney does......

Of course some do, and like any such occassion I simply ignore them after saying, 'you're one less person i have to worry about being behind in a line to my favorite ride'. As Mr. T would say, "I pity da fool."

Yep, almost anytime anyone asks where we are going on vacation, we get that "you're going AGAIN" - I think they're just jealous. :rotfl2: I don't let it bother me anymore. It used to, because I would never say that to them about something they love, but then I just figured... ehhh, we're going to Disney World!! Right!? :goodvibes

Yep!! All the time. My old boss could never understand why that's the only place we ever wanted to go on vacation. We lived in Florida at the time and she couldn't understnad why we didn't go to the beach or someplace more romantic for our anniversary or my birthday. I always told her that Disney is one of the most romantic places on earth. You just have to know where to look for the romance.

Not only that, but we love spending time as a family. I'm not one for making a big deal out of my anniversary, but love going to Disney to celebrate. Plus, some of the most magical memories as a family have happened while we were at Disney World. Those are the memories that I will remember long after my son is grown and on his own. Even when he is gone I will probably still go to Disney on vacation. I love it and I love making the magic come true for my family.
