We have always flown into MCO, but never to Sandord, I know that DME doesn't go there and we have rented a car, I'm just curious as to the experience. How long does it take to get to Disney from Sanford? Is it a pretty quick experience after you land. Just some general info from someone who has done this. Thanks

The Sanford airport is small. Very easy to get around. It doesn't take much longer to get to Disney. Maybe thirty minutes. Renting a car was ok, I went directly to get my car and everyone else went to get the bags. The car counters filled up fast. They only had one person at each rental counter. Hope this helps.

I really enjoy flying into Sanford. When we flew in there in Oct, my dh and I went right to the car rental counters...just off to the side of the terminal, right past baggage claim. You can actually see baggage claim from the doorway. Our friends went to baggage claim to get the bags. We finished our rental quickly (first in line) and our friends were lugging all our luggage towards us when we started in that direction!! Took less than 15 mins. Out to the car, and off we went. It takes just under an hour to get to WDW from Sanford. It's an easy drive.

Yes, this is the info I was looking for, just a general idea of what to expect. I assume the rental car place is open on Sunday, guess I need to check. Thanks for the info

It's a small, easy airport to get around; No big crowds, No big lines, No big check points, No big anything. :cool1::cool1:
We flew Direct Air into Sanford last year, rented a Cadilllac from Alamo ($200 for the week with a special code) and drove to Kissimmee. :thumbsup2
It took about an hour and a half from the time we landed to the time we got to our Condo; try that at MCO or Tampa. :rotfl2:
We're flying Direct Air into Sanford for April school vacation week again this year, renting a Premium car from Budget ($298 for the week with a code and a coupon) and driving to Kissimmee, Orange Lake Resort. :teacher:
I'm already planning to do the same for April 2013. :surfweb:
Good Luck All,
Joe
