think that the menu choices on the child's menus are very skimpy? I noticed that most of the restaurants that I went to didn't even have a choice for a hamburger on their menus!

What do you think?

I was very disapointed in the new kids menus. At the food court in POR a kids breakfast used to come with eggs potatoes meat and a biscuit. Then they gave apple sauce meat and eggs. My kids hate applesause and I had to ask for a substitution. This limited and 'healthy' menu ticks me off. Disney is a special trip that we look forward too. My kids eat healthy all year round, I want them to eat what they want on vacation.

In Epcot my kids like the option of eating the food of the country we are in. I wish there were more options other than a burger or mac and beef, which I can make any night of the week at home.:sad2:

I agree with you epecially with the dining plan the kids get celery and carrot sticks as an appy while their parents eat fried cheese!

Then for desert they get a fuit cup as their parents eat some decadent fat ladden treat

BTW my favorite little pet peeve with the kids menus is Pizzafari. There's no Pizza on the kids menu!

Hopefully, it won't be long and Disney will see the error of its' ways and stop the "politcally correct" crap! Kids like to eat the same as parents on vacation and with Disney being such a special place, what harm, really, would it do for a child to splerge(sp) like his/her parent? Wake up Disney!!!!!

Oh, I agree! I'm really not happy w/ the new options for children.

Their choices seem very... well, bland, I suppose, as compared to the adults' choices. WDW is such a fun place to eat for adults, and I wish the options for the kids were as fun too.

And I think it's funny that, at so many of the counter service locations, the options for the kids have nothing to do the counter service's offerings - like kids not being able to get a pizza from Pizzafari! Can they get a hamburger from Pecos Bill's? (Last time I checked, they couldn't.) Can a child get a hamburger & fries anywhere? DH & I love Columbia Harbour House, but my children won't eat those chilled chicken cubes - why can't they have a children's meal of the yummy chicken strips or fish? :confused3 DD & DS both end up eating my counter service meal from Columbia Harbour House.

I also really, really don't like the dessert options for them. I'm supposed to eat a yummy piece of gooey chocolate cake in front of my children who are eating a bowl of vanilla ice cream? :rotfl:

I agree that we should all be eating healthier, but I don't understand why WDW thinks that a Disney vacation is the right time to force healthy choices on my children. In our family, I try to get my children to eat healthy throughout the year, so, that while we're doing fun things like vacation, we can splurge. Vacation is a treat!

And I'm so sad that they've taken away the "fun" desserts for kids from some of the table service locations! At Le Cellier, the moose and smores desserts aren't options for kids anymore, and, at the Kona Cafe, those cute Kona Cones aren't for kids anymore either! :sad1:

I enjoy having the option of the healthy meals rather than just a burger and fries for my child. But...I would like it to be an option, not the only selection. They should have not so healthy and healthy. That way, the parents can decide how they want their child to eat.

Also, I would love to see a smaller portion of what adults can order at the TS restaurants. I would actually love to see that at local restaurants we go to. All my child can ever choose from are fried this and fried that.

ITA! Celery and carrots with a fruit cup for desert. We go to Disney once a year. It is a big expense and I want my children to enjoy different foods. I can't tell you how many times I have given them, vegies with lite ranch dip as a snack. Come on this is vacation, let's not have the food police take over the kid's menus.

Yes!!! My middle child loves to try new things. She was bored by the kid menus. I was sad for her, but could not spend 19.00 + for her to get an adult option. Many kids want to try new foods. So leave the old stand buys for kids and offer child sized portions of some adult entrees.

I was disappointed in the kids' menus as well. I know some kids will only eat "kid food," but we like DS to try different things, and he has come to enjoy a variety of foods. The two I can think of are Tangerine and The Tomorrowland Noodle Station. DS loves both noodles and the type of food at Tangerine, but he wound up with a PBJ and something else equally boring. At Main St. Bakery, we did get him the fruit and cheese plate, and he loved the Brie. I wish the specialty places would offer at least one kids' meal that goes with the theme.
