Does anyone else use RAISE.COM for Target cards to buy Disney cards?

I do!!! I love getting 50 buck Disney cards at a discount. I try and get the Target cards off Raise when they have 4% or higher. I then in turn use my RED CARD debit to get the additional 5% savings. It is NOT HUGE savings but every little bit adds up. I had a gift card in my wallet from Target that I got for Christmas and the balance was 10.06 so last week I grabbed at 50 buck Disney card and used that gift card balance along with my Red CARD and got an additional 2 bucks off the gift card. I spent 37.94 for my 50 buck Disney gift card. The only thing…when you use a Target gift card in the store the 5% comes off the balance after the gift card has been deducted but NOT ONLINE!!! YOU GET THE 2.50 off the total when you pay with your RED CARD.

I was asking about Raise the other day, so I'm happy to hear it works for you!! Is there a recourse if the balance on the card is not what it says it is? I'm afraid the balance may be lower than what it says.

Thank you!

I just don't understand how you get a Target Gift Card onto your Red card. I've called Target and they tell me that there is no way to apply gift cards to your redcard (debit) card. What am I missing here?

I'm going the Kroger route, too many bad gift cards recently on raise.com.
My credit card has 5% cash back at Kroger right now, plus I get 4x fuel points, which is about a $3 savings for every 100 points. Every $50 gift card is giving me $2.50 cash back, and about $6 off fuel. I'll take every penny I can get.

You cannot pay the balance on your REDCard with a Target GC. What you can do is make a purchase in the store, pay for part of it with a Target GC (like the OP did) and then use your REDCard to pay the balance. When you do that, you will have 5% deducted from the amount due.

Now, if you were to make that same purchase online, the 5% discount would be applied to the entire purchase price and not just the amount paid for with the REDCard.

As for Raise...my personal experience has been that they have excellent customer service and any time that I have gotten a Target GC that got drained of its value before I could use it, Raise has always refunded my purchase price. However, it's been almost a year since I've purchased any Target GCs on Raise. At one point, almost half of the GCs I purchased were being drained of their funds before I could use them. And then Target discontinued their app which allowed you to combine your GCs onto a one GC (which kept the previous owner from using the one they had sold to you on Raise). At that point, it became too much of a risk for me and I was through with them. I'd found better ways to get a good discount on Disney GCs and it didn't involve buying GCs from Raise.

I have been getting these since July 2014. I must be the lucky one because I have never had a card that was drained before I could use it. I purchased them last year and never had an issue. I did buy two more today but they don't have the 50 buck Disney gift cards on Target right now....so I will let you guys know if my two Target cards from Raise are drained. EEK!!! I hope not.

I add my Target gift card from Raise to my Disney card purchase online, but I also have my Red Card debit acct attached to my online Target acct. So even if I don't actually use my RC for that Disney gift card purchase it still gives me the 5% off.

Ahh, thank you! I haven't figured out how to stack those discounts - I've certainly taken great advantage of my Redcard discounts in buying Disney gift cards, but missed the opportunity to link that Redcard with an online Target account and use the discounted Target gift cards there and still get the 5% discount even if I don't use the Redcard. Thank you for breaking that down for me!

What's the turnaround time like for doing this? For instance, if I bought target gift cards on raise today, could I use them today to buy Disney gift cards? Then how long does it take to get the Disney cards? Hoping to pay this way for my September trip.

Raise sends you the Target GC codes very quickly. I don't think that I ever waited more than an hour for them when I was purchasing them. But Target .com is another story. They run out of Disney GCs and it can take weeks before they restock online. It can take a week (or more) for your order to ship. And once they ship, delivery is at the whim of UPS or the USPS. There can be problems with GCs not being activated, which means making a number of frustrating calls to Target .com customer service before you find someone who understands the problem and can help you. And then there's a recent post where the individual received a package of hair barrettes instead of her Disney GCs and so far, Target has not made good on the issue. They claim that there's no way that the item she received could have been shipped from where the GCs originate. I guess they never heard of employee theft.

But if everything runs smoothly, you can expect to turn those Target GCs into Disney GCs and have them in your hands in about 7-10 business days.

One more question - how often do you see them for 4% off on raise? Is it hard to get them with that percentage off?

I have before but usually I use my Chase Ink Plus and buy the Target gift cards via Staples.com. 5x points back on that card for office supply stores. Then I transfer those to Southwest which I value at about 1.6 cents per point so that's about 8% back just going this route. I do pay an annual fee for this card though. Works for me at the moment.

As soon as you get your gift card you can check the balance with Target (or whatever company's GC you bought) to confirm. Here's the Target website: https://www-secure.target.com/giftcard/check-balance

I haven't used that website as I spend mine on Target instantly & see the balance on the card at checkout. They have always matched what I purchased.

Raise has a 100 day guarantee covering empty cards & cards with inaccurate balances: https://www.raise.com/return-policy
I had to use this on a Cheesecake Factory gift card. When I used the GC about a month or 2 after purchase it was emptied. I called Raise and they honored the guarantee & refunded my purchase amount.

I haven't gotten very deeply into it, as I just can't figure out how to stack discounts enough to make it worth the time/energy/anxiety. But whenever I have looked at Target GC on Raise, I only see 1% - 1.6% discount... it's something, but I'm not sure that it's enough to make it worth my while to fuss with for the small amount I'd be trying to churn.

Although I may try something with Target GC and Disney GC, I just have to think about how it would work in my head a little more.

Yikes! I've been seeing Target gift cards for 4% on Raise, but by the time I enter my info it's gone. Is there a way to get it to save my billing address.

I see them quite a bit but sometimes they are gone before I can check out. Just check often.

Depends on the time of year. The Raise ecard is there VERY FAST like mins. some times or within the hour. I have gotten my card from Target in a few days to over a week. It depends on the time of year really.
