Does anyone else suffer from Dystonia? I have Paroxysymal (sp) Dystonia of the left hand/wrist/arm that is usuallys brought on by stress. This time it has been more painful than others and seems to be constant contractions. I don't take meds for it, only anti-seizure meds for the seizures that sometimes accompany it (none this time!). For those of you who do suffer with Dystonia, what do you do to make the pain and frustration of not being able to do everything normally (like typing on the computer, getting dressed) bearable?

I don't have that, but I have been diagnosed with RSD which sounds similar, but mine is in my foot. I too am frustrated with not being able to walk or even stand like some one who is 40 not 80. I can't even go back to work because of it do to the pain. I was a housekeeper at a local hospital and it is now gone.

I just keep thinking when the pain is so much that there must be a reason for it. Only God will tell me when it is in His time.

I try to keep my mind on other things when the pain gets too bad. I have gone back to college and I am singing in a church choir. Now that the weather is breaking I can maybe get out and work in the yard a bit. Anything to keep my mind busy. Keep looking for things that you enjoy doing and do as much as your body will allow you.

So sorry to hear of your struggles. You sound like you have a full life and are taking advantage of some of those things that can get put to the side with work, work, work.

I too agree that there must be a reason why this is happening...just wish HE would clue me in, LOL. Guess we just life life to its fullest at the best of time and not so best of times.

Hopefully once we are done with this move and everything is setteled it wil go away and won't return for A LONG time. Time will tell :)

Good luck with the move. You could be right that it could be all the stress of the move that is causing your flare-up.

Hang in there. There has to be an end to all of it at some time.

The "funny" part of the stress is that the move is really good for us and we've been waiting nearly a year to be able to move...go figure.
