Does anyone else remember a Muppet Christmas special from LONG ago?

It was one where the Sesame Street muppets went to Fozzie's house with the Muppet Show gang for Christmas. Some of the highlights I remember were the Swedish Chef almost having a heart attack when he saw Big Bird (I think he threw the turkey he was cooking out the window!), a snowman outside wanted to come inside and I don't know what else.

Anyone else remember this? If so, can you buy it anywhere? Thanks!

Christmas at Grandma Fozzies House!!! Thats not the real name, but what I always called it as a child. The real name is A Muppet Family Christmas. I'm not sure where or if you can by it, but you should be able to find out more with google.

I love that special! The title is Muppet Family Christmas. I think you can buy an edited version. I found the entire special on Youtube.

You can buy it from Amazon on DVD but it gets some poor reviews due to it being an edited version. If you read the reviews it has to due with licensing and copyright issues. Used prices start at $31.99.

Love it love love it!!!
We have a VHS version I think we recorded it from the TV when I was a kid. I love when Janice (the blonde muppet from Electric Mayhem band) comes in with Christmas cookies and Cookie Monster eats them all. She says "who was that strange blue creature?" And Animal says "sounds like my kinda fella" Cracks me up everytime!

haha! my friend and i were just talking about this on fb yesterday!!!! totally love it! i was looking on ebay and some of the vhs's were going for 50 bucks of it! i remember when it first aired....loved it from the first time i saw it.

Sounds like it has gone the way of Disney's Halloween Treat. An awesome movie that they SHOULD release for purchase, but haven't/won't. Darn.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who remembers this one though

One of our all-time favorites! We have it on VHS (taped from tv many years ago) but it is very very "well-loved".

We have our first Grandbaby on the way and I would love to find this movie again. Seems like Youtube is the place to be looking.

Our favorite line is at the end when they are all singing and I don't remember the guy's name but it goes "Me me me me...Christmas bells are ringing!"

Oh! and all winter we are "careful of the icy patch"!

Love, love, love this special! It's been one of our family holiday favorites for years! We have a VHS version that we bought in the early-mid-'90s. If they ever re-release the original on DVD we will be all over it!

The whole thing just is so much fun, I don't think we have just 1 (or 10) favorite parts!

It normally appears on television in its entirety but cannot be sold on DVD as it was originally written due to copyright issues. It has since been released on DVD two more times with slightly different versions.


I love them driving to Grandmas house at the beginning singing in the truck!!! We have it taped on VHS from when I was little. So good!!
