Does Anyone Else Obsess Over What Their Kids Where at the World?

I used to go nutty with outfits when the 2 DD's were younger. However now that they are teens I am just thrilled that they still want to go with me to WDW!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Stains happen. What do you do, not if but when, that icecream, ketsup, etc gets spilled on the clothes? I really want ideas because I have worked hard to make some of the clothes and plan the outfits. I do not want to freak out on my kids for being kids! They're way too old for bibs (unless lobster is being served!) so that is not an option.

Yes..spills happen. A pocket tide stain stick can help. But honestly the planned out clothes are our OCD thing and the kids have had no say. Yes you have worked hard but....life happens.
The image that keeps popping into my mind is Kate(Jon and Kate plus 8)throwing the kids ice cream away because it was messy and getting on there clothes:scared1: So what!!!!!
Make sure you get a picture as soon as they are dressed and then let them have fun. Plus they out grow the stuff so quickly.:goodvibes

I keep a stain stick with me at all times.

The image of Kate is exactly what I was picturing!:rotfl2: I do not want to act like that. Good clothes are a magnet to food & dirt.

I find that baby wipes are great for this sort of thing. Its amazing what they take out if you have nothing handy.

I just don't really worry about it at the time. I'll take a napkin or whatever is handy and wipe it up if I need to but I don't get upset. That wouldn't make it very fun. Later on in the hotel I'll scrub it. If I don't have anything handy I just use the bar of soap or shampoo. I have found that it really isn't that big of an issue.

Shout wipes and pens work great on stains too. They are very easy to stash in your bag.

I have obsessed and obsessed over what dd will wear. I spent way too many hours searching etsy and ebay. It became such an obsession that I could name most of the Disboutiquers just by their work :)

and my dark secret is that I am vain enough that I am also coordinating my clothes to match her-lol!

Now my main concern is that my two year old will go on a clothing strike while we are on vacation and refuse to wear her outfits!

I don't stress at all about it. A pair of shorts and a T-shirt.....that is all I worry about. If they spill we rinse off in the bathroom and so they have a little stain/wet spot....bit deal.

I am not looking at what your kids are wearing......

Well, put it this way.... I belong to 2 children's clothing boards and 3 Yahoo kid's clothing groups. I have 3 janie and Jack stores on speed dial and ALL of the sales associates at these stores call me when they have sales and put items on hold for me!! LOL! YES, I totally obsess over what my child wears, EVERY single day!! LOL! DH has already told me that I need to start picking out what I plan on bringing for Maddox for our Sep. trip to Disney!:lmao: He knows I'll bring Maddox's entire closet! LOL I'm not into boys customs, but if I had a GIRL, I would have SEVERAL of them!!:thumbsup2 My worry right now is what shoes to bring that will match all of his outfits! That will be a huge task picking those out! LOL! Good luck on your outfit planning! Have fun! April

:thumbsup2 Me too!
I obsessed when my 1st son was an infant. Now he's 12. We're way beyond dressing up cutesy. I'm so glad he's NOT into all the high priced name brands. That's more $$$ I can put down on another Disney cruise.

We all have our own obsessions. Mine is just way more fun than clothes. lol! :goodvibes

I'm sure there is a meeting we could attend; however, I would be kicked out immediately for teaching other mothers where to find customs and how to justify their worth....I'll just stick with the addiction :rotfl: It makes for great pictures and great memories.

Do you guys sell customs on the disboutique thread?? :goodvibes

I wouldn't say I obsess over the clothing but I do buy all new clothes for our trip! :woohoo: We go in March and my kids have outgrown all of their summer clothes for the previous year so I go on a shopping spree!!

I can't say that I blame you- when we went down I had to have everything matching for all 4 of us!! This time I won't have matching shirts (I did some days last time) maybe just have blending clothing--so we can all flow together!!

I don't stress about stains, even with the character shirts I've planned for them to wear. I am definitely not a "Kate"! :rotfl: I agree with the suggestion to take some really good pics early in the day before the sweat starts rollin' and the ice cream starts drippin', then just relax and live in the moment.

While I do like to dress my boys nicely I definitely don't spend alot of big bucks to do so. Most of their nicer things come from upscale consignment boutiques, Ebay, etc. I guess maybe I'm just old fashioned, but when we're anywhere but bumming around the house I like my boys to look decent. And to me, "decent" doesn't mean name brand, it just means......well.....decent! :goodvibes

Yup sounds like me :rotfl:

Hi there, no we do not sell on the DIS- is is against DIS rules. Although there are many who do sell on etsy or ebay that also make clothes for their kids. Just look at the siggys when you see clothes you like-you will see something like
Etsy ID janesboutique
Ebay ID janesboutique for example. If you dont, odds are they dont sell.
The Disboutique thread is there for us crazy ladies who sew, and sew and sew- regardless of if we have a trip coming up, anything is up for discussion- quilts, handbags, kids clothes, disney customs, crafts, cooking, its a really fun thread and if you hang around you will get to know everyone.
Everyone is really friendly- I have been a part of the board for more than a year and I love it- we are community within a community.

OH- and if you need ideas- you can check out our photobucket account (link is on the first page of our thread) You can see all the stuff we make (for those of us who remember to post them)
If you see something you plan to make, or have made and you are copying it, we ask that you ask first if thats okay. Typically if its for your own use the answer is yes.

C'mon over! by the way, just today we had someone post some adorable boys custom (t and jean shorts with disney characters on 'em)
