....or, is it just me? Our 1st cruise we had a handicapped room, and that bathroom was as big as a Buick. We got spoiled! Our 2nd cruise we got an SPH room w/split bath, & it seemed so small, we had to go outside to change our minds. Plus, it seemed I always needed something in one bathroom, when I was in the other.
I'm sure it's useful, however, if there's more than 2 people in the room.

I LOVE the split bathroom as I like to take long showers and this leaves the other side open for the others! Also, once I've fogged up one side after a shower, I can go to the other side to put on makeup, etc... without having to wait for the mirror to clear. Gotta love the split bathrooms even when you're not traveling with others!

We love the split bath...makes a lot of sense...family members don't always have to be waiting on one another.

:sunny: I love the split bath. One can take a shower or bath and another can do what it may need to do in the other.:earsboy: :earsboy:

I am actually another person who is NOT a split bath fan. As you said, it always seems like my husband is in the part where I need to be and visa versa. The hair dryer should be in the shower part, not the toilet part.

Actually I like the dryer in the toilet part, because by the time I'm ready to dry my hair, someone else is in the shower.

I really like the split baths! I'm sure I would have been spoiled pretty quick with a nice big bath though :)

I love the split bath. It makes getting ready so much easier. If someone is in the shower you do not have to wait to get in to the toilet, and vice versa. I like my privacy!

Wow! I thought I was the only one that wasn't crazy about the split bath.

I wanted to dry my hair in the bath with the shower, but the dryer was in the other part. It was very cramped in the space when I was trying to get dressed.

I did like it it when DH was in the shower and we would still brush our teeth or use the bath, but that was about 15 minutes out of the day (and we could easily work around his shower--we did when we were in the Cat. 11).

I can see how it might be nice when my girls are older and wearing makeup and needing to 'do their hair'.

But I would have liked one larger bath than the split bath. BUT it isn't that bad and we adjusted. After a couple of days we got a routine down, and learned not to leave stuff in one that we might want in the other (I am taking 2 tubes of toothpaste next time to leave one in both sides).

I guess you could say that split baths have their good and bad aspects...

I too find that the baths are a little small (I'm just glad I'm short and don't take up much room)

however....

last cruise we had FOUR WOMEN in one stateroom. The extra mirrors came in handy, and some of us need all the help we can get!!! (especially when you have an older sister who can get ready in half the time and look twice as good :P)

You've got to take the good with the bad... and being on a Disney ship... I'd say there's a lot more good :)

I have to agree that I am not a fan of split baths. Try getting dressed in the bath with the shower. I had my children in the room and didn't want to be indecent. I had more bruises on my elbows trying to get dressed. BTW I'm 5'0 and 115 lbs. I finally got smart and went to my sister's stateroom, which was a handicapped room. That bathroom was pure heaven.

We like the split bath and I just close the privacy curtain in the middle of the cabin and get dressed on the other side from the family. I do not like getting dressed while the shower is steamy..it makes that much harder to get dressed. The privacy curtain is great.

I think I'd prefer one larger bathroom, but it's not a major issue for me.

Im the mom, of two teenage girls, we have sailed disney 3 times all with the split baths, I cant stand how small they are, bend over to put on your clothes and bump you butt on the wall, i got so frustrated that I made them all leave and got dressed in the cabin. I feel the same way whatever you need seems to be in the other one.

I also HATE the split bathrooms. I actually like a cat 12 just because they do not have split bathrooms. I never had what I needed in the right section.

Are the single baths in Cat 11 the same size as one side of the split baths or is it larger, like the ones that Tluvs2talk mentioned re: the Cat 12's?

I have to agree with Barb and others. My husband was always in the one I needed to be in, or what I needed was always in the "wrong" one.

Anyone who doesn't appreciate the split baths doesn't have teenage daughters :) Although I admit, it is smaller and might be a little constricting for larger sized people, being able to shower while having another sink available compensates for that.
