DH & I dont drink coffee, but I've tried other things there, and I just dont get it. So many people love starbucks, but I really don't like it. Even the hot chocolate wasn't good. Its funny to me too, that some parents I know won't let their kids have some juices that are too sweet, or soda, or mcdonalds but they'll go get them a latte from starbucks. Anyway, am I the only one that doesnt like it?

 Me too. It's just plain old coffee to me. I do it just as well as home.

I don't... don't drink coffee and ordered hot chocolate there once - it was awful!

I have had a few different kinds of Starbucks Coffee and I really can't get into it. Seems so strong.

I did a thread about this several months ago after DH and DD made me order some obnoxiously long named drinks. :rotfl2: It annoys the heck out of me to spend $9.00 for two--well, I'm pretty sure they basically got coffee-flavored ice cream. :teeth: Oh--the reason I always have to order is because DH has an English accent that is hard for some people to understand and Dd is 15 and basically feels I'm her ordering slave. :teeth:

I'm not a coffee drinker so I don't get the attraction. The two of them love it, though.

I'm with ya! My dad on the other hand is one of the obsessed ones. He goes to Starbucks every morning before work and then every night. When he goes in they say "Hi Joe!" and they already have his drink ready. I am not kidding. I think he spends a small fortune there each year. I can't drink the stuff, it tastes horrible to me.

I don't like it either. :rotfl:

My husband used to take my 1DS to Starbucks when he was little. When he was 4 we were driving down the road and my son insisted on going to the ice cream store. I didn't see any ice cream store. It turns out my DH would buy him a frapaccino (sp) :rotfl: :lmao: from Starbucks :rotfl:

I am a Dunkin Donuts coffee girl. No D& D in OC CA though! :( SO My mom shipps me D&D ground coffee from NY and I make it at home every morning. I go to Starbucks every now and again, and get an obnoxious 1/2 caf, Non-Fat, Carmel Latte, Syrup not sauce! I feel like Frazier everytime I order, but their coffee is so bitter. Can't get it regular!

BTW--they are raising prices in Oct by $.05 per drink! Like the $4.50 I spend isn't enough, when I just saw the CEO of Starbucks onthe top 10 of wealthiest for Forbes TODAY!

At the risk of being contradictary.....

It's not plain old coffee....it's probably worse. And, you wouldn't do just as well at home; you probably do better.

FIL was a coffee buyer his entire life and when he retired, he became a coffee grader - at the risk of sounding boastful - he's probably one of the best in the world (he's received awards that say so, LOL; and is compensated quite nicely and requested often and travels the world to do it)....anyway....FIL says Starbucks buys garbage beans and burns the beans so badly what they make shouldn't be called "coffee".

I love coffee and I also think it's AWEFUL!! Not only is it aweful, it's way over-priced.

They're building so many Starbuck's (including several drive thrus) around here it's getting ridiculous. It's like they're on every corner, just like the CVS's!

I don't care for their plain coffee, but I do adore a White Chocolate Mocha or a Caramel Macchiato.

I tried a Seattle's Best Coffee White Choc. Mocha and it wasn't as good as a Starbuck's. :confused3

But for a plain cup of coffee, I prefer Gevalia home brewed.

I dont like it. A girl from my office was doing a coffee run at starbucks one day and since I never tried it I order a F.V. Extra extra. She was like they dont have this. What :confused3 They have coffe right? Then she started name off name of drinks that have. I got something nofoam, shakening not stir a drop of whole milk non fat coffee, sprinkle of two grinds of sugar switched out of six cups carmel grande. :rotfl:

I like it well enough, but I don't understand why they have to buy up all the local places and turn them into more Starbucks stores. They recently bought up a bunch of Barnie's coffee stores here in FL. That bummed me out, because I liked Barnie's too.

Also, I only like Starbucks coffee from Starbucks itself. It tastes very weird and burnt if I try to use their beans in my machine at home. It's weird, because the machine itself came from Starbucks :confused3

I'm in the NO camp! They donated coffee one year for NC Senior Games State Finals for the volunteers to drink in the morning. Oh, man, was that stuff strong! I had a small cup and put 4 sugars and 3 packs of creamer in it, and I still couldn't drink it! :sad2: :scared1:  I figure they use the same coffee to make all the foo foo drinks, so i have never tried any of them. Besides, there's no way I'm spending that kind of dough on a dumb beverage!

Noway!!!! I'm not a coffee drinker and we're getting ready to move to the Seattle area........Do you think I'll get run out of town on a rail???? :rotfl2: Just in case, shhhhhhhhhh, don't tell anybody!!!! :lmao:

I'm not a fan of the bitter tasting coffee at Charbucks.....

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I actually used to work for "Charbucks"
I actually worked for them for a long time. Two of my DD's first words were Starbucks and coffee. Not kidding.
I could give you a long explanation about why their coffee is like it is but I won't; I got past defending it along time ago. I do however prefer a really dark roasted coffee as a result. Keep in mind that most folks however don't order the drip style coffee like they make at home. They order the carnival drinks and the frozen stuff. If you had a cup full of white chocolate, whip cream, and sugar, you'd think it tastes good, too. Add the caff and its a highly addictive mix. That's why so many people can't do without it.
Also, it is expensive so its a status symbol just like wearing expensive jeans or carrying a brandname bag. People thinks it makes them look good to be seen carrying that cup. That is a goal of the company that is discussed openly. They want to be the Coca-Cola or Levi's if you will, of the coffee world. Just do me a favor ok? If you do frequent a SBUX on a regular basis, be kind to those folks working behind the counter. You would not believe the stuff they put up with from customers and I know my fellow DIS'ers are nothing but love. Thanks :wave2:
