Does anyone else miss Alfredo's

I am soooo lame. I actually had a dream about my dearly departed favorite restaurant ever...Alfredo's! I adored their Fettucini Alfredo and ate it every time we went to WDW.

I tried Tutto Italia last trip and it was fine. Don't get me wrong, the food was good but not mouth-wateringly delicious like my Alfredo's.

What cracks me up is that on the boards here Tutto seems to be way more popular than Alfredo's!

I just wanted to see if anyone elses misses this restaurant like I do!

I do, too!

We've been to Tutto Italia three times - once, I was hoping it was a bad day for the restaurant, the second time I wanted to try a different dish and again, make sure they weren't having a bad day the first time (they weren't). The last time was probably truly my last time there - I had to face that I just don't like the menu. When I found myself ordering a pasta dish and asking for it without the peas and ham, I knew that I really just wanted Alfredo's fettucine alfredo, and nothing else will do.

We don't do dining plan, just DDE, and I really think its one of the worst values for the price, my opinion only.

I went to their Rome restaurant in '07 while I was there, and enjoyed my meal tremendously, but back then I thought it would still be at Epcot forever. Sigh.......

Oh I miss it so much!!! I tried an Alfredo dish at a restuarant in NYC but just not the same!!:sad2:

That Alfredo was amazing. I had a pasta dish with a vodka pepper sauce (or something like that) with shrimp - this was absolutely the best pasta dish I have ever had. I do miss that place (though I haven't yet tried Tutto).

I think the fettucine was something special. Also, Alfredo's just fit in with the whole "picture postcard" view of the countries. When I first went (when I was much younger), it was what I believed a classic Italian restaurant would be like. It was like a restaurant from a romantic old movie.

FWIW, Tutto did not meet my expectations either. Both my entree and my husbands were really not that good (and it's not because we have "Olive Garden" taste - we have lots of great Italian food in the Boston area). I assumed it was an off night because everyone else seemed to love Tutto.

To be fair, Tutto's desserts were very good.:thumbsup2

Yes, yes and yes! Best Fettucine Alfredo ever!

DH and I were just talking about this over the weekend, while we in Epcot! We have been debating trying Tutto and have not yet for fear it would not meet our expectations, sounds like we were right. I miss the Fettuccine Alfredo! It was my one must have while at WDW.

Alfredo's was our all-time favorite restaurant anywhere. :earsboy:

Maybe we hit Tutto on a great night but when we went it blew Alfredo's out of the water? We'll try again in Sept at least twice so I have my fingers crossed!

OP, I am right there with you. I loved, loved, loved this place. I miss it soooo much. We had ressies there 2 years ago right before they closed. I was so looking forward to my last meal there. Guess what? I got the throw ups that day (our last day) and never made it. I will be forever sad about that. Can't bring myself to try the new place.

It's good to know I am not the only one who loved this place! Like I said tutto wasn't bad but to me it just wasn't anything special. I think people should give it a try. It wasn't bad, just kinds pricey.

I had a mini trip planned 2 weeks before Alfredo's closed. My fiancee and I had planned on flying to FL on Friday day and flying home Sunday night. I was planning on eating there on Saturday and Sunday before we left for home! I am so crazy I was planning this mini trip JUST to eat there again before it closed.

Well, things happened and my fiancee and I split...so no trip to Disney for Alfredo's. I was devestated...that might sound funny but I REALLY wanted that Fettuccini again :lmao:

I miss the Fettucini Alfredo also. Haven't bothered to try Tutto Italia since we have plenty of overpriced Patina Group restaurants here in L.A.

I refuse to go to whatever that new restaurant in Alfredo's space is--Epcot gets a whole lot less of my dining $$ (which is OOP since I stay offsite) since they made the boneheaded move of pulling Alfredo's.

Just as an FYI for NYC area Dis'ers: there is an Alfredo's in NYC, over by Rockefeller center. It's the same restaurant, and the Fettucine Alfredo is still to die for. It's a small consolation--at least I can still eat at an Alfredo's. :lovestruc

I feel the same way! I didn't really enjoy the one time we ate at Alfredos but thought Tutto was one of the best meals of our last trip. That trip was just DS and I so I am really looking forward to taking DH back this trip! I hope that our meal wasn't a fluke!

Was my DH's favorite. We are not at all interestedin the new place either.

Luckily, we are close to NYC where there is another Alfredos. I am taking DH for Father's Day.
