:crazy2: My back is acting up and we are going to WDW next week. Advil wasn't helping, so I tried one of DH's Aleve. I feel so strange every time I try it - :crazy:does these happen to any of you? :confused3

Yes, I was shocked!

I am/was a regular Motrin user, no problems.

I remember I hurt my back and had to take my kids to the movies, so I popped an Aleve for the first time. Within an hour, as I was driving to the movies I got SOOOOOOO tired. I had to tell my kids that I could not go. I felt that way all day and once it wore off I was totally fine.

My best friend had the exact same issue with it.

I was sort of surprised by this as I used to take Naprosyn (prescription) when I was a teen and it never did that to me. I think it is the same drug or very similar.

I also have a coworker who feels very odd when taking Motrin.

Every time I take Tylenol, I feel like I'm sick with a head cold. It happens to my friend as well.

Yes, it kind of feels like a tranquilizer - very strange!

I tried it when it first came out and it made me feel really weird. I've never taken it since.

Aleve never gives me problems, but whenever I take Tylenol Cold & Flu, I get sick to my stomach. I've taken Aleve for so long now though, I've probably adapted to it.

I can't take Aleve, everytime I take it I get so sick to my stomach.

I've never had any problems with Aleve (in fact, it's my go-to pain killer of choice because it works so fast and without any issues.) BUT... I recently heard a report (I think on NPR) about a big study that tried to determine what the best pain reliever was. The result was that it was totally dependant on the person. For some people (including me) Tylenol was no better than a placibo, for others, it was a wonder drug. Some had complications on some and not on others. So it makes sense that you might have problems with one pain reliever and not another.

YES!! I thought it was just me. I have fibromyalgia and some friends suggest I try it, but it did make me feel "weird", as did some prescription meds I tried. Nothing seems to work. for me. I'm glad I read this thread. Sometimes it's very helpful to know that other people feel the same way. Thanks for the thread!

I also have fibro. A few years ago I took so much Advil I gave myself gastritis and had to go on Prevacid. They told me to never take Advil again, but I always have to go back to it, nothing else helps as much. It's also the best thing for toothaches.

Do you have high bp? My mom can't take it because it makes her bp worse and she feels funky.

It doesn't bother me, though I don't take it often.

No, my blood pressure is fine. Guess it just doesn't agree with me.

Now I feel like I'm stuck in the house for a few hours because I feel so strange I don't want to drive or even cross Queens Blvd. to get to a store. Thank goodness I didn't wait til I was in Disney to try it!

Thanks for the responses, at least I know it's not just me :p
