Does anyone else have trouble "seeing" the 3D shows?

I really do like all of the 3D shows - and my whole family does too, but am I the only one around who just sees double instead of feeling the full effect of the shows? When thing are not really "popping out" I get the 3D effect, but when things seem to come out of the screen, I just see two!

Is there a trick to seeing this? Dumb question, I know...but I was just wondering?:earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

I don't experience the 3-D effect either. May be because I have such terrible vision in my left eye!?!

You know, I had this problem too for the longest time and I didn't even realize it!! I had no idea that I wasn't seeing things the way I was supposed to! It's been suggested that I can't see the effects because I have an astigmatism. Of course, I too have problems with my left eye sometimes, so, that could be the reason.

Bottom line? You're definitely not alone!!:p

If one eye is significantly stronger than the other you will definately have this problem. If you can not see the 3D effects there is definately a vision problem of some sort. My eyes are very sensative. The last trip to WDW is the first time the 3D effects worked well for me.

Capt EO was awful. My eyes watered through the whole thing.

I don't see 3-D either. However, I am 100% totally blind in 1 eye. That is where my problem lies. The one thing I still really enjoy though is the effects are so great that it still makes it worthwhile to see these shows!!

I don't always see the 3D effects unless they are really good ones. It seems like the newer movies I can see, but the older ones I can't. I can see the effect's in Mickey's Philharmagic, but the ones in Honey I Shrunk the Audience I can't see.

My eye doctor did a test when I was a child, and told me that I couldn't see 3D things.

I do ok with the 3D effect but I leave my glasses on under the 3D glasses... I found I do need to wear my glasses.....otherwise forget it..

My right eye is completely lazy...lol, beyond repair the eye doctor says ... so when I go to the newer 3D's if I close the eye sometimes I can get the effect, otherwise I get half of the effect, it will come off the screen some but I can see a shadow of the double behind it ... ugh!

I have a hard time seeing the 3D also. I always thought it was because of my contacts.

OMG! I totally thought it was just me!! I thought my eyes where too close together. This ruined my experience at ITTBAB and Muppets. I even went in again because I thought maybe it was where I was sitting but nope--two of everything and not in 3-D. Bummed me out. I dont remember having this problem in '96 so maybe its a sign of "incorrect correction" of my contacts. Im blind as a bat, by the way, without my lens or glasses. Hmmm...

This past trip I kept seeing double. I would close my right eye until the screen adjusted. I have always had 20/20 vision but this leads me to believe it is time for an eye exam!:teeth:

I too can't see the 3D effects. I also have a lazy eye and I think that is what affects it since I am always wearing either glasses or contacts. The difference in eyesight is still too much.

For me, all I get to see is the movies. Basically, during the known 3D effects, I can take the time to look around the theater and see the things that may have otherwise been missed. I like to think that I get to see more than the actual movie.

Yep, my Mom can't see 3-D.

Took us all a while (years) to figure out that she wasn't seeing what she was suppose to be. She always wondered what we were trying to touch!

She has one very weak eye. After we figured out that she didn't see what we were seeing, it made sense. 3-D effects require both eyes.

DS has a very weak eye also. He could not see the 3-d effects with his glasses but this year with contacts he could see it better. He has really poor depth perception and I am guessing that that is a big issue in the 3-d stuff. Very common with people born prematurly. Any of your in that catagory??

i can sort of see the 3d effects but it really doesn't pop out at me like it should...when i was younger i could see them great but as i have worked in the computer field for as many years as i have and have abused my eyes with the crappy monitors that i have worked with, i think i have caused this problem...i do wear glasses and attempt to put the 3d glasses over my prescription glasses...i see some of it but now all...i usually see two of everything...

I have never been able to see 3D. My right eye is much weaker than my left due to amblyopia.

The ability to see 3D is based upon your ability to see with both eyes equally and "pull" the images together into one.

Those of us who can't see 3D usually have amblyopia (lazy eye), strambismus (wandering eye) or are blind in one eye.

I've always wondered what I am missing on those 3D shows, but they are still neat, even in regualr double vision:teeth:

I don't have any problems with the Disney 3-D shows, but I couldn't find the picture in one of those 3-D things they used to have in the newspaper to save my life.

I had a strabismus (cross-eye) in my left eye since 12 years old . No depth perception and no 3-D effects . Three different Opthamologist I went to over the past 30 years said there was not much I could do about it ...........learn to live with it .

Four years ago I went to a Neuro-Opthamologist in town that I had heard good things about . After my eye exam she asked if I had ever considered fixing the strabismus in my left eye . I told her every other eye doc I had been to told me to live with it . She said she could correct my eye with surgery . After some research on my own I had the surgery . My left eye is now straight and a lot of my depth perception has returned along with the 3-D effects at WDW .

Find a good Neuro-Opthaologist that performs strabismus surgery in adults and then go enjoy the 3-D rides at Disney.
