Does anyone else have Jan 9-13 2012 off school?

Our district, and many others, get three weeks off for Christmas break. This next school year it starts later, just a few days before Christmas, so we don't go back until Jan 17th, the Tues after MLK Jr. Day. I know that weekend will be busy, but what about the week of Jan 9-13th? Do many other schools have it off too? Just curious.

Are you in a year round school? I've never had nor has my son three weeks at Christmas except when I was in college.

No, we aren't year round. Last January we went the week after New Year's, and I thought for sure the crowds would be lower than what they were, so I figured lots of other districts must also have three weeks off. But maybe it was my whole town that was there, lol!

In Modesto (Nor California) we had 3 weeks off this year and it looks like they will do it next year too.

I am so jealous!!! Your trip will be golden. I was at Disneyland for MLK day weekend this year and the crowds were very light. It was great. I can't even imagine how light it would be for the week before. I think you are in for a treat!

We get 3 weeks here too, but we don't have the calender for next year yet....we won't have that until much later this year. If you are able to go then you will have reduced park hours (open later, close earlier) but much lower attendance. You should have a great time! Altho it might be cold and wet, that will just ensure lower crowds.

We were there 7th - 15th Jan this year and it was amazing - there was hardly anyone there! Every 2nd person we met was from Australia, as that's when our summer holidays are, and so many of us head overseas (or to DL!) at those times. You will have a GREAT time that week!

The colleges here are off too. We don't go back until after the 15th usually.

My kids attend a charter school on a modified year round calendar. They get three weeks at Christmas. Next year they go back to school on the 9th.
