Does anyone else have a panic day?

I am exactly 7 days from checking in and I have had a freak-out panic day!

I looked at a confirmation email re: our flight and saw I was on a plane at 7:30 am while DH was on one at 3:55pm. I know the earlier flight is sold out and got sick trying to figure out what I did wrong. Well, after missing the last half of A Christmas Story, I realized I was looking at an old email of a flight that had been changed. All of the reservations are fine.

I then panicked when I realized I had no idea what my promo code meant for the great price on a rental car. I frantically searched numerous websites trying to find the code to see if I had to join AARP or AAA or something else in the next 7 days because surely they would ask for proof I qualified for the 1/2 price (almost) promo code. I found it but I don't have to belong to anything for it.

I am sitting here at 11:15pm checking every reservation and printing them in fear of messing up something big and important.

Oh, and when I went to MDE 1/2 an hour ago, one of my FP+ was missing. I logged out and logged in again while searching for the IT phone number and saw it was back again.

Do you ever have one of those days before a trip?

I don't know as though I have a panic day, but 2 days out I'm in a bit of a panic mode. So, I feel your pain ;)

I do! We leave on tuesday and the weather forecast is now putting me in panic mode. It's predicted to be as high as 81 and as low as 41 during the next few weeks, so, I am packing swimsuits, cover ups, gloves, jackets, hats, boots, sweaters, shorts, jeans and sandals. The what ifs are driving me insane, what if we are too cold, what if we are too hot. Panic mode is on!!! lol

I'm always anxious that I will forget something huge or neglect to plan something right before we go. I am the family trip planner so I kind of feel it's on me if we get to the airport without or passports or I choose the dog kennel where they lock him in a box and neglect him for 10 days. It's just how I roll. By the time I get on vacation I NEED the vacation from all the prep and planning and worrying the week before. :rotfl:

I don't know that I panic, but I am a planner. My family laughs about but also appreciate the itineraries I hand out prior to departures. I do always check and re-check a million times as you did for any and all vacations and we travel quite a bit, not just Disney (US road trips, Italy, cruises, etc.)! If it helps ease your anxiety, back about 10 plus years ago when you still had to call for the dining reservations, my mil and I both were on the phone the first available day to get Cinderella's breakfast. I secured one and was thrilled. Turns out we showed up the day after our reservations, even after checking and rechecking somehow we had the wrong day. We didn't know it until we checked in early at the park for the reservations. Disney was awesome, we had a bit of a wait, but they got us in pretty quickly same day, and we were a large party. It was a "magical" ending to what could have been very disappointing to our "princess" at the time! (And the rest of our party as well) So, if anything does go awry planned or not, just remember you are on vacation in the most magical place on earth and enjoy!! All that being said, I would also probably be the first person to get upset if something did not go as planned LOL!

Only when flying to the destination is involved. When we go to WDW, we are lucky to be close enough to drive.

Once we were going on a cruise out of Seattle, and several weeks before the cruise, I just happened to be checking our flights and they had changed our daytime flight to a night time flight. I was not notified by the airline. That would have put us in Seattle after the ship sailed. So we quickly had to book the flight for the previous evening and find a hotel in Seattle for one night pre-cruise. I know, always fly in for a cruise the day before, but sometimes it is tough to convince DH to do that.

Panic Day is usually the day before the flight, when I'm still doing last minute stuff and wondering how much sleep I will get that night...

And this can happen with any flight, so it's worth continuing to check on your flights.

If it changes and it doesn't work for you, you can call your airline and get it changed at no extra fee or fare cost. Even look at other nearby airports if you have those and that airline flights from them. You don't have to accept all changes from the airlines.

the other thing that can happen is that there can be an "equipment change" (they change the type of airplane they had slated for your flight) and if it's a different sort of seating they'll move pre-chosen seats all around. Easier to change when it first happens, so set a schedule of making sure all is well with your flights!
