Does anyone else get Post Disney Trip Depression?? BOO HOOO

Me, Me, Me... I have super post Disney Depression! We had Season's Passes and went weekly and when they exp'd I thought I was gonna go nutty. Now I spent my days off on here. My post count went WAY up... so did the pains in my wrists...lol!

You are so lucky to be able to go all the time. As I mentioned in a previous post, I have a friend who moved there about 6 years ago and they never go!!! I don't get it.

I am not alone!

I have been waiting and planning or May 05 trip since last trip Apr 03. I actually go on the WDW web site and turn the volume up high so I can hear the music they play there....especially for the MK. I work with my husband--all he can do is laugh when he hears the orchestra pipe up from my office.

I have been picking up little things for the trip for several months now--swimsuit here, pair of shorts there...and have a plastic tub in our guest bedroom closet with everything. As it gets fuller, I get more excited!

I love the recovery ideas--start planning another trip--scrapbooking--the Wishes CD---

And in our defense, I think it takes a special kind of adult to truly appreciate the magic--that's what it is that we miss and want to enjoy again.

It is truly a sickness, but a good one. You should see my house!!! You walk into my house and you know I'm a disney nut!!!! I've even got the plate on my truck, Mickey ears on my antenna, it goes on and on......
Disney should be paying me for doing all their advertising :rotfl2:

I'm with you, DisneyFans4! My home office is done, tastefully so, in Disney. And the master bathroom is in Animal Kingdom, subtle but there! I use Disney silverware and drink out of Disney glasses. If someone doesn't like it, then they don't have to come over and visit! But so far, everyone seems to really like it! :cool1:

You guys are making me miss WDW more and more.
My DH leaves for a business trip to Miami tomorrow for 2 days and has already said he wishes there was some way to could visit Disney but he can't.

I too got depressed when it was time to leave. I actually shedded a few tears the morning of check out day. I just wasn't ready to leave!

thanks so much for all the sharing..........now I don't think I am nuts. I love WDW...and I guess I need to figure out when we can go again.....and START PLANNING NOW.

Denise

I thought I was the only person that came back from WDW depressed. I'm already feeling sad and I haven't left for my trip yet!

I agree, planning the next trip is a great idea. When I booked the components to my Magic Your Way Package, I deliberately bought extra, no expire, attraction tickets to have on hand for future vacations. As I told my disbelieving husband "It's like money in the bank". I don't think I've convinced him though.

Even though I've developed an eye infection and feel yucky, I still cannot wait to leave for Florida!

We went in November and I'm still depressed. I just informed my DH that the bonus he's getting in a few weeks will go to our next trip. I'm hoping to go for 2 weeks in June 2006. I can't wait to book and start really planning.

this happens to me whenever i return home, BIGTIME. how can you go from the happiest place on earth, where everything is green and everyone smiles, back home to work and bills?

i find it helps to *not* look at pictures for a week or 2, so at least i don't think about it as much. removing the visual connection to the memories is helpful.

We use to get it big time but not anymore. Now that we are members of DVC we go 2 to 3 times a year. Now when we leave, we know we will be back in a few short months and instead start planning it. Our big question is weather to by AP's or a 10 day MYW, too many decisions to make....smj

The only way to handle the post Disney trip depression is to start thinking and if you're lucky enough planning for the next trip. I works for me. :flower:

::yes:: I like to start thinking about our next trip as soon as we get home. It helps to keep those sad un-Disney thoughts away :smooth:

This is so true! We watch the home video over and over again. But what really helps is planning the next trip and trying to fit in all we didn't get a chance to see plus all of our fav's from the last trip. These boards are a godsend!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! My DB just pulled out an old WDW home video from '96 and the first thing on the tape is my DD taping telling us that "we are on the way to David's favourite ride now (DB)" and then we're in imagination...

HE TAPED THE WHOLE THING!!!!

:sad1: its so beautiful!!!!

i have been staying home all week taking sick days and I've just been pulling old WDW tapes off the shelf to cure my WDW separation sadness...I can not bealieve this...oh my goodness...it really is the whole thing! Ceilign shots, shots from either side---amazing---you never realize what you have until its gone...oh my god he got a shot of the cars!!! Truely beautify...this is just making my sickness melt away with my WDW depression :wizard:

UPDATE: DD taped Malestorm, BTMR, Spectro Magic, Voyage of The Little Mermaid Show, Indiana Jones' Stunt Spectacular, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Snow White's Scarey Adventures, Small World, Tomorrow Speedway etc...(mind you he didn't use the backlight ;) )

On our last trip 2/2004, I caught my husband on the phone with his mother asking her to go pack up our house and have our belongings shipped so we can stay forever!!! I had been begging him to go for years (he had never been there) and now that we have our dd, he finally caved in. Needless to say, we are going again in April! Yippe!

I was so depressed on that plane home. A few months later, we began planning another trip with our best friends for 2006. My friend and I somehow convinced our dh's to push the trip up to 2005. Still don't know how we managed that, but we did and we are happy about it!!! The only things that made me feel better were finding this board to post to and having ressies for our next trip! I'm so hooked!!!

It's amazing how we all hate that ride home. You should see our videos. My DH does it every year and we are so depressed. Everyone is quiet. Disney is truly a magical place and I'm counting down!!!

WOW! This thread really hits home with me! Everyone thinks I'm crazy because I love our WDW vacations so much. Luckily my DH loves Disney too, but he is an every other year kinda guy. Sigh..... :sad2:

As you can see from my counter, I have a long ways to go till my next trip.....May 2006. I can't wait!!! :bounce: It will be my first time to stay at the Poly!

I just get by with these boards in the meantime. That and working hard to lose all these extra pounds before our next vacation! This time I'll be going to Disney in a lot better shape!

Its great to know there are so many out there like me and we are there for each other between trips!
