does anyone else feel 'obsessive' about their planning?

He is going on this trip with me and my 3 daughters. I have changed my plans every couple weeks or so since the beginning of April when I first made the reservation. I just made my last (knock on wood) resort reservation less than 20 minutes ago.... BWV in November. It's gotten to the point that he just doesn't believe me any more when I tell him "this is it".

Anyway, once Sunday is past, and FTP is done, this changing thing is over for sure. .. and I mean it this time!!

Now how do I unload some MNSSHP tickets I won't be using any more??

:) :earsgirl:

Thanks for the ideas!

Now I have something else I can start working on! Maybe it will make my trip that much closer!!!! :)

I let my husband read some of this thread.. he just shook his head! LOL!

My latest obsession is on what 'baby' stuff to bring/ship. I went looking for one of those portable swings last night.. debating on whether to bring one with... no reason to 'decide' just yet - must obsess over it some more!

I need a countdown clock I think.. we leave July 20th! Woo hoo.. 3 weeks!

yep, sounds familiar! On the down-side, it is a big let down when you get home and realize "it's all over"! Good reason to be sure you have lots of memories to bring home!

I don't know how you can go and not plan. there is so much to see and do plus with my kids we had a plan but of course it changed and just to know about other restaurants we could go to etc. I found the Passporter book really helpful. I saved a lot of money with my compulsion to plan. that be said I completely blew anything I saved on "stuff" for the kids.

I really enjoy planning each new visit from scratch. I'm a project manager anyway and I find that trips to WDW are the best kinds of "projects" to plan! :D

I have learned not to get too exacting because this tends to make folks feel uptight. But everyone seems to feel more comfortable in just enjoying WDW when the important particulars have been flushed out.

Now why didn't I see this thread earlier???? Maybe because I was too busy "Planning"!!!

I start planning 1 year before the trip. DH thinks I'm nuts and refuses to even speak about the trip until we're in the Month of the trip. This year I created a spread sheet listing which days for what parks and where we'll eat. I actually only re-did the schedule 3x's and that's a record!!! Of course I'm flexible...:)

Seriously, for me planning is half the fun. When I have a really crappy day at work, I come home and look at my spread sheet and then come here and read the posts!!

After the trip, when I have a lousey day at work, I'll start planning for my next trip! :) :)

My problem is I can't quit planning and I sit for hours in front of the computer and now I've gained 20lbs. I love reading the boards and dreaming of disney. Its definitely an addiction!!!

I love planning and researching! The DIS boards are awesome and so is the website with all the park and dining info. Last summer when we did our first family trip to WDW I can't tell you how much the info here helped me to prepare. What a differnence it can make on the little things!

:D Obsessed, who me?:earseek:

Im always obsessed with my trips to WDW..Especially now that Im going to stay at the WL for the first time, arriving Oct 25-Nov 1 and then on the Disney Magic, for my very first cruise of a lifetime on July 24, 2004. So Im more like Crazed & Obsessed,,LOL

Actually,,I have found that when I focus time on my trips and read the dis boards,,it a nice mental escape. Some of us have alot on our plates, i.e. family issues, work problems, health related stuff, etc, you get the picture, so to me, Disney has been such a breathe of fresh air, and when I need a break, I come on the boards, re-live a trip, research a trip, and live YOUR trip when you write it.

So thanks to everyone..its like a big family here...Love & Goodness to everyone.

I like being Obsessed:jester: Wouldnt have it any other way:D

I plan out every trip day by day. We know what park, what restaurants, even when we will be doing laundry. DH gets to the point where he tells me he doesn't want to talk about it any more. However, if things weren't planned out, he would be upset.
He has even had coworkers talk to me for advice on planning trips to WDW. The only thing I am obsessing about this trip is the drive down from New England. We ususaly fly. I hope we don't get lost!

Of course...Who wouldn't obsess?

It's been 5 years since we've been to WDW, so the main thing has been to find out all the things that have changed. Reading the Unofficial Guide and all the different forums here have kept me on the computer well into the wee hours.
We were originally only going to 'stop in' to MK and AK on a beach vacation in Florida this summer, but when we found out about the package, we couldn't resist! My DH was actually giddy for about 2 days! Ever since I've been in full planning mode. We had a bike trip 2 weeks ago for a vacation, so I had to think about that for a little while, but it was hard!
Now I just have to ask the kids what THEY might want to do....:D

AND YOU ARE ALL MY WIFE!!!

This must be the Disney version of the Stepford Wives!!!!

LOL

HAVE AT IT!!!

:Pinkbounc :jester: :p :earsgirl: :earsboy:
We're leaving for disney 7/1 and I been on the computer nonstop. I have 4,5,6 and have looked at all MK attractions many times, have tons on height requirement, speedpass, wait times, and how scary. Same with AK. I've already called and set up Cinderella dinner, heard she doesn't come out much and daughter only wish is to meet her. Also set up late breakfast with mickey and late lunch with pooh. I'm bipolar and gotten really manic trying to plan out the perfect vacation and have come up with several plans for each day, one for sun, one for rain, one for tired kids.

AND I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME!!!!! LOL

I love planning for my trips to Disney. I've even gone so far as thinking what I can do for the next trip while on my ride back to the airport.

:p

I've been going every xmas for the past 4 yrs, its just ridiculous the amount of time I plan and re-plan. I try not to bring it up so much to my friends and family, b/c that' s conversation that can go on and on. BUT, OH MY GOSH, IF SOMEONE ASKS HOW TO PLAN A DISNEY TRIP....WATCH OUT, I'M A VOLCANO OF INFORMATION:bounce:

As a matter of fact I have to start planning for this xmas....HERE WE GO!!!!!!!

No you are not alone. I have to be careful because my husband is not into this as much as me. I wrote down the early entry days and left it by the computer. I made a comment to him a few days later about while we are there we could do this and his answer was, why ask me, you already have the trip planned out. Had to convience him that thoes were only early entry days...Oh well, he also likes to have things planned out, and in the long run enjoyes that everything flows smoothly.

I'm the one who plans the WDW trips in my family instead of my DW although I do check with her on our PS's. I feel I'm addicted to reading these message boards. WL here we come August 3rd.
