have you read the first page of the CB? how many of those threads have something to do with Disney??

Oh, for goodnes sakes, of course children and unborn children will be go in the rapture. No children will be left behind.

That's what I thought and my quick Googling reaffirmed that. It seems that children younger than around 12-13 would be automatically raptured so that's why those parents are not worried about their kids.

Well, see, this topic does have something in common with Disney then. Furthermore, this is the Community Board. The whole purpose of this board is for members to discuss things not related to Disney. If you don't like reading non-Disney threads then you should stick to the Trip Planning boards.

The community board is where people come to gather about things (usually) other then Disney. It's our bar.
There are plenty of other forums here that are strictly related to Disney. Have you checked those ones out? That's where most newbies start and then eventually make their way to the community board.

1. The Community board is specifically for non-Disney topics.

2. Many people on the community board DO have similar interests. MAny don't, and it makes for lively discussion.

3. If you're so tired of reading off-topic threads, what the heck are you doing here on the community board reading off-topic threads? Go plan your trip.

I saw a Jesus bus at Stop n Shop with "May 21, 2011 the end is near". I asked the guy how much it was gonna cost to repaint the truck on May 22nd, he didn't think that was funny.

Am I the only one who has no desire to be taken up in a Rapture? I'd like to stay here and live out my life, thank you very much. I have plans!

Maybe it's because I don't really believe in "Heaven" (at least not in the way most people do). I can't picture what Rapture would be like, and I'm quite content to wait for my death to find out if anything does exist on the other side, and what form that existence takes.

I agree with you and this whole conversation really gives me the creeps.

Wonder what would happen if I started a thread asking if anyone "believes" Nov 6th 2012 will be the day that Obama gets re-elected. I'm not being a board cop or anything, I seriously miss reading some of the political topics so this irks me a little.

Meh. Either it happens or it doesn't. Not that we could stop it.

But what the group is saying is fuzzy. First it was Jesus was returning on May 21st. Now we are going to have earthquakes on May 21st, and Jesus returns October 21.

To be frank, I don't worry about it. It happens when it happens. The arguing that exists between different theologies over how or when the end of the world happens seems pointless to me. Just wait and see.

As others have said, this board is a free for all. But I get a little tired of seeing non-Disney threads on the Disney for Family and Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies boards.

Anyone who claims to know when the rapture will happen is a false Prophet.

I ascribe to the words of Matthew 25:13: "So stay awake, because you do not know either the day or the hour."

Christians may believe that it will happen in their lifetime or not but most do not make decisions based on that belief. You cannot live your life by when the rapture may or may not happen no more than you can live your life by when your own death may or may not come.

We don't know the day or the hour, but live our lives as if Judgement Day is tomorrow. Of course we makes plans, save money, etc., leaving it up to the Lord's will if we live to see our plans, etc.

So when these people wake up in the morning of May 22 and realize they are still on earth, what are they going to do? Call up all their fellow believers to see if everyone's still here or whether they just didn't get a pick? And when they realize that the Rapture didn't even happen, then what? There are going to be some very disillusioned (and broke) people on May 22 ........

That's what I'm assuming his next move will be - convincing his followers they've been "left behind."

I thought someone upthread posted that children weren't included? Maybe I misunderstood. Either way I find it ridiculous to think there are those who are so self-assured that they KNOW they'll be picked. Kind of the DIS version snowflakes. Even Jesus had his doubts and wasn't sure if he was good enough, what makes everyone else think they know better?

Jesus didn't have doubts. You can know you are saved if you have done what the Bible asks you to do and continue to live your life accordingly. Anything else would get me points...Sort of hard to discuss the impending "Rapture" without discussing religion!
