Does Anyone Do This?

Hmmm... OK, now that the can is open I will say THIS:

If you really want to save 14 $, go to the Entrance and SING a Disney song. All passengers!

You will see what happens! :cool1:

yes there are buses from DTD to TTC i take them often when i stay at shades of green to avoid having to take the shades of green bus to DTD which doesnt run often enough to DTD.

edit: i mean i could be wrong but i swear i did it last july.. either that or we walked to poly
No buses run between TTC and DTD. The TTC is the parking lot for the MK...no buses run between parks and DTD. You can get a bus to DHS and to AK from the TTC but that's about it.

Could you, in theory, walk from DTD to Saratoga Springs and take the bus to the parks from there? I am not advocating doing this, but wondering if you can (I've never stayed at SS so I have no idae, but I think it is pretty close to DTD?).
Sure you can, but it's a fairly hefty walk. Not something I want to do first thing in the morning. And then trying to figure out where the dang bus stop is located within SSR??? There are several.

In all reality, it's hard to use DTD buses for park access. As already noted, the buses don't really start running from DTD to resorts until about 10am-ish, maybe a bit sooner. And even then, they aren't all that frequent. So you could face a 30 min wait for a bus to get there.

I realize that many say that if you can't afford to park then you shouldn't be going to WDW. But, in the same vein, parking costs are, or at least should be, part of your budget. The same as food and park passes. If you choose to stay at an offsite resort, then you need to figure in all your costs. If you're staying at one of the Disney-friend resorts, they have shuttle buses that run to the parks. This will save you money. But in all reality??? You really shouldn't plan on parking at DTD for park access. It takes up close to 90 mins of your park day...each way. Do you really want to spend close to 3 hrs in travel time to save $15??

Don't mislead here...there are no buses from DTD to TTC direct and buses to MK go directly from resorts to the park (no TTC) or directly to Epcot (no TTC). I don't get mad, if someone wants to waste their whole day to save $14.00 why would I care. I will already have been on a boatload of attractions before they even get to the parks. In fact, I wish everyone would do it. They could do away with FP...wouldn't be needed.:hyper:

You know I've been on this board for like 4-5 years, and never heard the word 'snarky' until I came here.........and still don't hear it anywhere else BUT here.

Is snarky a 'dis thing'? Like all the acronyms TTBAB, ToT, BTMR, etc?

Don't forget all the variations:

snark, snarky, snarkier, snarkiest, snarked

:rotfl2:

I'm perplexed why this question even gets asked.

Are people looking for someone to validate an action they know is really not....ethical is a heavy word for this conversation but I cannot think of another right now?

If the transportation system at DTD was meant to be used in this manner, it would already be in place. At least that's my opinion.

Well, since the DIS invented the word, I thought we could take some liberties with it.

And since the DIS invented the word, why can't we make it a verb too: to snark. Or to be snarked at.:rotfl2::rotfl:

But I think "ethical" is exactly the right word to use. The whole question revolves around what is right and wrong.

\snarky mode on\
Not to get :offtopic: but no.

Was the DIS around in 1906 :lmao:

The adjective snarky is first recorded in 1906. It is from dialectal British snark, meaning 'to nag, find fault with', which is probably the same word as snark, snork, meaning 'to snort, snore'. (The likely connection is the derisive snorting sound of someone who is always finding fault.) Most dictionaries label snarky as "Chiefly British Slang." But for the last five or more years, it has become increasingly common in American publications, maybe ones infiltrated by British or Canadian writers and journalists.

\snarky mode off\

So yes you can conjugate snark, a verb, but not snarky an adjective. :goodvibes

haha i LOVE the word snarky. And chortle. and churlish... all good words for any internet forum...

I joined the knot forum when I was planning my wedding about two years ago. At that point, we had agreed to get married but didn't want to actually be engaged for over a year. It was just our decision and it worked extremely well for us. We are planners and wanted to get the details out of the way beforehand, so we could just celebrate the engagement. We know that's unusual, but I'm still very happy we did it that way.

ANYWAY, the point is that I joined the wedding planning message boards, explained our situation and asked for some advice.

And then... BOOM!

... let's just say if you think Disney threads about parking fees get nasty, you really shouldn't join the knot! Mean, mean, mean!! I saw another girl post pictures of what she wanted to decorate her reception hall with and she got torn to shreds... that wasn't snarky, it was just cruel and immature.

So I'll take snark over mean any day!

You do know you can bring your food into the parks with you, right? You just can't bring in glass, alcohol, and at AK plastic straws are a no no. You can have everyone carry a small tote, or you could rent a locker and stash your food in there. That way you would avoid the walk back to your car. And at MK that means either a boat ride or monorail ride and then the walk back.
