I dread it every year. Our extended family (including us) are not football fans. It seems that Thanksgiving day is one looooooonnnnggg, boring day. We sit around waiting for the food to cook, have a few cocktails (after 4:00, of course). We eat, clean up, eat pie, clean up again, and go home. It's like watching paint dry. :hourglass I want to hide. :crazy2:
So, other than EAT, what do you DO on Thanksgiving? :bored:

Well, we will be in WDW this year! :) :)

I have to get together with all 300 members of my local family and listen to them play bluegrass....badly.

There are usually a few groups doing different things...some talking, some watching TV, but the others play games! My favorites are Taboo, Outburst, Pictionary or some form of Trivial Pursuit. The more people you have, the more fun they are. I think Pictionary is good for the most laughs, LOL. :)

Same here!!! :earboy2:

Usually about 25-30 of us gather at my house. So Thanksgiving is me cleaning the week before and cooking from morning on. The cleaning part isn't so fun but I actually like cooking. It's been this way for 12 years now but my family decided this year to all go to WDW. SO this year the cooking will be done by Cape May Cafe. :cheer2:

We're gonna be in Vegas on our honeymoon this Thanksgiving!! :)

My thing is watching the Thanksgiving Parades in the morning in my PJ's eating pumpkin pie.

I make turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and green beans. Easy, schmeasy...

Might have company sometimes, sometimes just us, and other times we vacation.

Billsears, gepetto, MimiQ-Thanksgiving at WDW will be great! Try to check out the high school marching band that will be performing in a few parades then. Our DSs will be there with their HS band. DH and I are flying down and staying on site so we can see them perform!!

Have a great time! It will be here before we know it.

I LOVE Thanksgiving!! Usually after dinner we drink beer, play board games, and get a little rowdy. There's a fire in the fireplace and everybody has a great time. We always say we should take a walk outside ("walk off some of this pie!!") but we never do. :teeth:

A lot of times, it is an opportunity to see old high school buddies who live out of town but return for the holidays.

And, we always go shopping on the Friday after T-giving! I hardly ever buy anything, but I love the crowds, the mayhem, the sudden burst of Christmas decorations and carols over loudspeakers...even the crowded food court and jam-packed parking lot kinda add to the fun... :rotfl:

Am I crazy? Does anyone else enjoy shopping the day after T-giving?

HECK YEA!!!
It is me and DH now, with a total game plan. And we are shopping for TOYS....HECK NO!
We shop for electronics. computers, TV's, etc....(as needed)
We wait until then to buy them.

If we can snag a deal, I will be getting a new computer. Last year we got the Best Buy "deal" and got a computer for $200.00.

We are also looking for a all-in-one COLOR laser printer. We have been price watching.

CAN"T WAIT FOR THE SHOPPING!

We have dinner then we play Texas Hold Em...5 bucks to get in the game, winner takes it all home plus the trophy. Trophy is currently on my mantle hehe. We usually play a couple times a month, it's a lot of fun.

I leave for chicago every Thanksgiving night for a Doctor Who convention

We go to the HS football game in the morning. The rest of the time I'm cooking, serving or doing dishes. DH works every Thanksgiving (casino). When we used to have the meal at my parents a lot of us would walk down to the beach and play football, etc. We still could do it but we eat later and it is usually dark by the time everything is done. Honestly, I enjoy the football game the most. I see a lot of people I went to school with or some that my boys went to school with. This year my nephew will be playing in the game and next year both he and my youngest DS.

We like to travel. Sometimes we travel to see family, and other times we travel with just our own family. Sometimes we meet up with other family members in a vacation destination. We've gone to WDW. We've gone camping. We've gone lots of places.

We don't generally watch football. DH does like to if it's easily accessible (like when we do stay home), but it's not the highlight of the day. We like to play games when we're at home, either our home or someone else's. We play a lot of Trivial Pursuit, and lately we play Phase 10 and Cranium. We get a paper, and the ladies plan our attack plan for shopping the next morning.

We go to three different houses in one day and eat at two of them! The best part of the day is the touch football game with my family. Everybody from my dad and uncles to our 6 y/o DD play football on that day. DH and I really get into the Friday shopping.
